Then WTF is a sling for?
Too old to be innovative and nano-technological.
Doesn’t replace a sling, just gives you a way to get it off your neck for a bit. Guys have been doing it for years( since colllars on vests went away?) just using a mag pouch, just like they use the IFAK and utility pouch to rest their arms……
I feel like this would encourage complacency. Hands off fire control if needed quickly on sentry or what not.
I don’t think it’s meant to be a hands-free option, just transfers the weight to your torso.

I’m, pretty sure that 9 pounds hanging from a single PALS loop swinging around is way past what they are specced for.
