1979–Laser Products Corporation LPC Model 7
The Laser Products LPC Model 7 created the tactical laser sight market and fostered a generation of WeaponLights that would bear the SureFire name. Integrating a Helium-Neon laser light with a Colt Trooper .357 Magnum, it became popular with SWAT and special forces units, leading Laser Products Corporation to develop laser sights for other firearms commonly used by military and law enforcement agencies. Between 1979 and 1984 Laser Products released laser sights for such models as the Remington 870, Ruger Mini-14, Heckler & Koch MP5 and Colt M16.
