The optic is the Trijicon VCOG 1-8×28.
Is this the VCOG 1-8x ?
Good question: what exactly are they buying?
Sounds like accupower 1-8
It is a VCOG 1-8x.
It is the 1-8x VCOG. Long live the VCOG.
The best part about this is that when I’d suggest that Trijicon would win this, everyone said that the Marines wanted a different brand, which didn’t end up submitting.
First lesson I learned in acquisitions is you can want whatever you want, but once the Statement of Work is posted, you’re just along for the ride.
100%. If you didn’t get what you wanted, it’s probably that your SOW sucked. And you probably shouldn’t be the person writing it.
It is supposed to be a 1-8x. https://ssdaily.tempurl.host/2019/05/15/usmc-interested-in-a-squad-common-optic/
We can assume its something like the commercial VCOG, based on the picture in the earlier SSD post. There could be something unique about it that makes it different, though.
Anybody know which reticle?
I’m mulling a LPVO for my personal rifle and interested in reticles now…
It will be an MRAD reticle. Nothing crazy.
