Vehicle Ready HEXGRID Platforms from 5.11 Tactical

5.11 Tactical’s HEXGRID is a multi-angle load bearing platform. PALS compatible, it allows you to configure your equipment so that it easiest to access. With the HEXGRID platform mounted to the front of your passenger seat, you can reach right over and get what you need without looking. Naturally, the system can also be mounted to the rear of a seat.

The system consists of two components, seat and headrest.

I guess it was only a matter of time before similar products to Greyman Tac’s RMP came out. I do like how these directly integrate loop on the surface to facilitate using velcro-backed pouches.

Random question– do people actually mount/store firearms on these as common as Greyman Tac seem to depict them? I get it if you’re in a warzone, but in CONUS, seems like it’s just begging for a smash-and-grab.

To be fair, the Greyman stuff is rigid plastic. This is just a soft Molle fabric. Plus, 5.11 puts these on the website for a day or two, the. They disappear for months.

I wonder if they are making batches to address contracts (or possible contracts they want to be ready for) and just blowing out the excess.

Vehicle theft here is pretty much the #1 petty crime. You leave ANYTHING remotely of value, even a nickel.

Say goodbye to your glass replacement deductible. That is the biggest problem with these products. I feel like where and when you can use them is severely limited.

The Snatch N’ Grab Panel from Advanced Holster was out two years before the RMP.

It was even covered right here on SSD.

    res51cue,

This non-rigid option is intended for supporting equipment to be accessible within the vehicle, and have ease of removal turning essentially into a tool roll. Thought would be if removing at end of day or swapping between vehicles (hasty or otherwise).

5.11 additionally makes Flex Adapters (MOLLE strap to Velcro accessory) so as any MOLLE pouch can be turned into a tearaway option on loop panel. If firearm is being attached I would recommend the side straps be used to add additional structure.

General feedback on firearms stowage has been mixed. Unless someone is with vehicle the biggest issue falls back to theft since the firearm is visible.

    Will,

This product has been received exceptionally well, and has sold through twice over. More inventory slated for Summer 2020. Website shows only in-stock products. Apologizes for any inconvenience on this.

    Stay tuned.

Just discovered the Helikon Tex inserts, which are much better than even 5.11’s Flex Adapters. The Helikon Tex versions come in multiple sizes and are very very thin.
