I got the last version and IMHO it looks better than this. The horizontal dashes are kind of ugly.
Agreed, they turned the nicest looking jacket into ugliest looking jacket.

Last years jacket is a lot nicer. This looks like someone had to cover up stitches with overlay tape. Too bad last years is marked with a huge “No returns” which isn’t really motivating me to buy one.
Down migration can be more of a problem in jackets like this where none of the quilting actually closes off a section; usually not a big issue but down does funny things when its washed.
Several companies have been experimenting with welded baffles and think most of them will regret it…not every jacket will last long enough to see the welds fail, but the better ones will. Having repaired a good number of welded patagonia and arcteryx jackets I can say even the best stuff isn’t immune from weld failures.
