To me, the term ‘woobie’ denotes something much more blanket-like. My beloved poncho liner always kept me warm because without it, I ‘woobie’ cold. And on that note, I’m wearing one now, modified with a nice hole in the middle and worn like a traditional poncho. It’s still terrific…
You are not alone. First-Spear can certainly call their products whatever they want to call them, but Woobie is a traditional poncho for many of us, or a garment (hoodie or pullover) made out of Woobie (poncho liner) material (i.e. Perseverance Survival – I have a v-neck pullover and a hoodie, they’re awesome but order a size up, they don’t stretch / move with you).
Haven’t tried the Perseverance Survival made Woobies but I’ve been heavily using a hoodie from Woobie Gear since February. I’ve been quite happy with it and it’s been surprisingly durable. Not many garments can survive extensive contact with malinois puppies.
The pictured First Spear hand warmer is pretty awesome. I’ve had mine for 6 years. Has a bunch of cool little details that make it very convenient to use.
Perservance Survival and Woobie Gear look like a pretty similar companies… Who was first?
