Instagram Suspends SIG SAUER Account

On 19 February SIG SAUER and their fans on Instagram found this stark message.

No real explanation there; “account integrity and authenticity”? Sounds like they’re grasping at straws.

To further demonstrate how capricious Meta’s decisions are, SIG’s other accounts like SIG Academy are still operational.

While multiple firearms related accounts have recently had content deleted, suffered restrictions, or been suspended outright by IG, this is the first time they’ve take down an entire account for a major manufacturer.

YouTube on the other hand has been on a tear, deleting the accounts of multiple firearms-related accounts.

Progresso-fascists at it again with ideological subversion masquerading as safety concerns.

Meanwhile, they admit they have “difficulties” figuring out how to stop the rampant human trafficking, perverted child abuse, and narcotic rings operating with relative impunity on their services.

  2. xdarrows says:

Time to force content-neutrality regulation/legislation on internet “communications providers” to stop this.

While the First Amendment only limits government restrictions on free speech, the philosophy of liberty is harmed when a cabal of private interests who have near monopoly control on the means of communication are “free” to silence their political opponents.

    • Yawnz says:

Calling them “private interests” is the problem. They aren’t. When they exist due to government funding, employ “former” members of state intelligence and surveillance groups, and fund state activities (see election “fortification”), you can’t rightly call them “private”.

      • SShink says:

They are private (these companies certainly have a valuation that is liquid-able) and the government using them to further their agenda is fascism

Social media was a mistake. Giving corporations god-like power was a mistake.
And through our mistakes, we must learn or we will perish, just like our former civilizations.
Remember; power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

    • Yawnz says:

This isn’t a case of “corporations being given god-like power”. They are nothing more than extensions of the state, and basically always have been.

      • jjj0309 says:

You have great point. The collusion and nepotism between the government and business were always present. From Pinkerton to FDA, and now the Silicon Valley, there are dangerous histories of breed between the government and corporations in the US.
We are slowly becoming the authoritarian, corporatocracy Sci-fi fiction world. And at this rate, corporations will soon replace the government or maybe they already are. I fear the future where company terms of services became more important than the laws or the constitution. It gives me shivers of horror.

It’s called a technocracy and it’s been talked and planned for the last 100 years

  5. Alpha2 says:

So, somehow a gun manufacturer has violated “policies” which they cannot identify and or is somehow a “safety” concern, but meanwhile known narcotics distribution, child pornography and human trafficking routinely get a pass around their policies. These companies have been afforded way too much power and as usual, policy violations are subject to their political will. I’m just shocked…:s:

  6. Liam Haakon Babington says:

Until the techno-idiots are legally put in their place, do not expect change. Moreso, we as the voters allowed for crappy politicians to get elected. Cleary we are responsible. We have to push for BETTER QUALITY people in office…THAT is where the change will take place, and thus imposing the rule of law on Meta, Google, etc

  7. Raul says:

Write your senator and representative right now. Calling in is helpful as well. Yes you will have to give your name and zip code. Stand up and be counted.

I’m curious to see where this goes. It is one thing to go after some random IG influencer. It is quite another to go after a major corporation that has lawyers on staff with nothing better to do than file paperwork. Sig Sauer can’t really lose by going after IG. Their customer base will be pleased no matter what the outcome.

  10. James says:

The apparent random and pointless application is part of the process- you can’t follow the rules if there aren’t any. If they get get pushback over it -a ” compromise” of restrictive rules is waiting in the wings. “At least it’s better” until it’s rinsed and repeated ad infinitum….

While friends don’t let friends shoot SIGs if these technotwat fascist mess with one of us they mess with all of us.
Time for a brutal antitrust suit

    Instagram shame on you comrade.

  14. MiamiC70 says:

Well, if only gun companies and gun owners would stop posting and using lefty social media. We go along just fine without social media for a very long time.

  15. rob c says:

You guys realize it’s an AI that’s making these decisions right? Whether its on FB, YT or IG.

The account is already back up

Getting outraged over absolutely nothing, and inventing conspiracies where there are none

This same tribe is also the same tribe that brought the Red revolution to Russia and they are actively working on bringing it here. We were all warned by a man about 80 years ago that’s made it to be the most evil person to walk the earth.

  17. God says:

So, no actual guidance at all on what they did wrong or how to fix it. No person to talk to., Just a kick in teeth.

Clear as mud. Yep, sounds like Meta-bull. Just decided they didn’t like sig Sauer

More rights and freedoms disappear every day. It’s sad how many people are oblivious.

  19. Kevin Tabb says:

While I really don’t appreciate, this suspension it doesn’t surprise me, like the issues concerning firearms, the mark will always be missed. People will always make calls like this suspension to impress or suppress what people think and feel in regards to their connections to the issue, baseball bats have killed people knives, and razors had their places, but bows and arrows, and slingshot don’t have clubs and collectors or competitions do they?so I understand, but really I don’t need the hassle or Instagram for that matter, so do what you do,pathetic though it be.

  20. Ed Miller says:

God said this day would come. Yes, we are in the End Times. Thus nation has always been free and about freedom. Not anymore The USA, the shining beacon on the hill, is no more. Fascism is winning for now but God has a plan. In my opinion anyway.

  22. demure says:

instagram has had on going bugs locking normal people out of their accounts for no valid reason. (there have been a few news reports on this in the last year) This happened to me last month as well. So, there is the chance that this is just instagram’s crappy code base miss firing, and not an actual targeted ban.

  23. This is just liberal censorship !!!!
