Las Vegas, Nevada — Strike Industries is proud to announce that its Cable Management System® (CMS) has been selected by the United States Army for use in the Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) Program (in use beginning 2024). We are very excited and honored for the opportunity to contribute to the US Military. Our CMS is a meticulously crafted ecosystem in development since 2018. Engineered to solve the cable conundrum stemming from flashlights, lasers, and other weapon electronics, our CMS does more than just hold cables. It ingeniously stores excess cable within the weapon accessories and guides the cable’s direction seamlessly.

A lot of people hate on some of the goofy products Strike releases, but I’ve always felt they release an equal amount of functional and high quality accessories, to match. Good on them for snagging this contract – like others before (Magpul, etc.) hopefully this is the start of something big!
I’ve had no problems with their AR-15/AR-10 lower parts kits and I’ve put them into half a dozen guns now.
This is what 100mph tape is for. I get civilians liking to get fancy wire management stuff so their rifles look nice and tidy. But this is targeted for the NGSW. Strap it down with tape or inner tube bands and call it a day.
No, don’t use tape on your rail. Rubber bands? Sure, but tape? No.
Given that this is blatantly stolen IP from Forward Controls Design, it is a pretty big deal, yeah. Chinese company steals IP of a good innovative American company and gets a contract from the government for a non-Berry complaint component? It’s BS is what it is.
Berry is for textiles (and tools). Could you post the link to the FCD item? I didn’t see it on their site.

The SI covers came out in September 2021. It appears that the FCD covers were developed with TNVC and came out in July 2021.
SI has been doing cable management on many of their rail-mounted grips for a lot longer, too. You could probably get a utility patent on this system, but the claims would be pretty weak and easy to side-step.
Since they got the contract, the SI parts are likely lighter and certainly cheaper; depending on length, the SI parts are 2/4/6 for sub-$20 retail while the FCD covers are $30/45/55 each!
We showed the first prototypes during vSHOTT in January of 2021, though we didn’t make a formal announcement.

At the time, Strike had their “Siegen” covers available, but to the best of my knowledge, they did not show or announce what they then called their “V2” covers until that September (giving them at least five months to come up with their own version–plenty of time for them).
But, we opted not to patent at the time (the patent Strike refers to is, as far as I can tell, almost wholly unrelated other than being related to cable management). Lesson learned at this point.
