40hrs and they use a single 123 battery.
Here are more details on the battery life. 5 hours of continuous use. Roughly 40 hours in standard operational use. 55 days in standby mode.

Check out the MWAD. ARD is cheap enough to put everywhere, but if someone is running m32’s the MWAD might be worth it when paired with a drone operator.
Counterpoint: what’s the point of single-digit precision of range estimation, when elevating the device prevents the user from aligning the front and rear sights for accurate aiming?
The front and rear sight on the ARD was designed just to make sure alignment is correct before you elevate the sight. The line on the ARD helps with the cant angle and then you just transfer to the front sight of the ARD.
Trying to align the read and front sight like traditional 40mm sights is not how you deploy the ARD.
Alright, so upon target ID and initial sight alignment, this device relies on the user’s ability to rotate the weapon upward in a perfect single plane of movement and not drift left or right? While simultaneously eyeballing the screen to hold the right angle? Seems like opportunities to introduce imprecision to an instrument trying to be precise.
The software update feature is neat and small form factor is always good, but I don’t see how this could be more accurate than a pivoting quadrant-style sight. Feels like the Emperor’s got no clothes here.
Remember, this isn’t a sniper rifle; it’s an area weapon system. I think you’re overthinking it — this device makes it much easier to acquire the target and get rounds on target quicker.
