(Aug. 15, 2024) – UNITY™ Tactical, a designer of components that integrate tactical systems and optimize the human factor, announced the launch of WZL™, a magazine enhancement that enables rapid visual and tactile confirmation that the magazine is fully loaded and easy differentiation between magazines with mixed loadouts.
When fully loaded with 30 rounds, a black, blue or orange indicator emerges from the baseplate, allowing the user to identify magazines with different rounds, such as ball, tracer, supersonic and subsonic. The three-color options provide the user with the ability to quickly and confidently identify three separate loadouts when utilized in conjunction with standard floor plate / lock plate combinations. The indicator features an indentation around its side for easy application of a paint pen for further distinction of round type.

Good idea, but how do you account for the over-loaded 31-round issue in PMAGs? Does this prevent it? 29 rounds vs. 30 rounds is not the issue. 30 rounds vs. 31 rounds is the problem.
Pretty sure it’s easy to account for, if you load 30 it’ll pop out and if you load another after that, then it’s on you. If you unload 1 round and the bottom is still bulging then you have 30. Simple problem solving man it’s not complicated.
It’s interesting but I think its of somewhat dubious value. At $26 for a $13 it really only shines to tell me mags in a pouch are fully loaded. If the mag was out of the pouch I’d just push the top rounds to determine if its loaded fully. Take the $26 I saved and buy two more mags. As far as gun gizmos go, there have been way worse ideas come to production for sure. I give them props for coming up with a unique gizmo paired with a superb product in a way that looks factory. I think they’d sell more if it was just the injection molded product and not the spring and the cost was 5ish dollars. At 26 Im always gonna buy more mags instead.
Yeah, this is a $9.95 for a 3-pack type of product. Maybe $6.95. It needs to be below the cost of a new magazine.

Good idea for arms room accountability for the loaded duty mags. Would never replace blocking your rounds but would augment the PMag’s window check.
Going to have to disagree with the naysayers on this one.
I have been the supervisor of guys who show up with half loaded mags, empty mags that they never reloaded after a range day, etc. I have learned to never underestimate the “don’t give a sh*t” of some people. This product would be perfect for me to be able to visually verify status without having to pull a mag out of a pouch. If you are on top of your game and motivated, you probably don’t need this. But I don’t think it is for those guys.
