During the recent Rampart Range Day in Canada, Galvion demonstrated their developmental Helmet Sizing App. Team members measured the heads of volunteers and then compared the suggested size with actual fit.
As you can see I had a great time and a bit of a laugh over the situation. Me and my odd-shaped head didn’t quite fit their model and I needed to size up. It’s data collection like this that allows them to dial in their models. Likely, they’ll toss my data as an anomaly.
At any rate, look for the sizing app, coming soon to a fielding near you.
That does sound like a great tool. Certainly, better than the one-size-fits-all approach of the Army back in the days of my initial in-processing. 🙂
“EG” size will be a thing I think.
Great idea, except last time I checked Galvion had a 6 month lead time, if not more.
Maybe they should be producing helmets in a reasonable time, instead of promoting a product that isn’t available.
