The project Zero Vest is a new design from LBT Inc that is great for undercover work.
Specifically, it was designed for zero visibility when layered under civilian clothing. It’s made from a combination of Nylon 330D MAS Grey / 4way stretch / lycra which all combine to allow for the fitting of different plates. Additionally, as you can see, it offers the use of detachable Velcro options for comms, mags, and hard plates, all removable and customizable for unique end user load out.

Not sure what kind of civilian clothing you would have to be wearing to conceal that.
A big jacket or something. So you’d look fat… Not like the person you really are, which is pretty much the point if you are doing the type of thing that requires armor and a rifle under a civilian disguise.
I think fat looks fat,, i think you would look like a guy hiding something under a jacket, not sure where you’d hide the rifle.
There is literally much want from me right now….
I have no experience with this…BUT.. it “seems” as if the plate carrier could shift around as one moves/runs and leave you with some open areas?
Let’s discuss
I definitely see where you are coming from. I have never been a big fan of elastic based cummerbunds on plate carriers. But, TANSTAAFL, you know?
I’m curious why you think that
In my limited experience regarding low-viz work a lot of people usually ditch armor all together in favor of small chest rigs, belt lines or turn key solutions like the “Das Ding” from first spear or the CROPS belt.
The times I’m aware armor being used it would be the ultra low-viz steel plates Mayflower offers or soft armor only.
As with most company’s products in this industry this plate carrier was most likely demand driven. With that said, I’m not going to say this is completely pointless. If I can’t find a use for it, it’s obviously not for me.
Someone asked for it to be made.
Absolutely, that’s what I meant by demand driven. I doubt LBT would come out of the blue with a product to such specificity.
I’m assuming their either ordered to wear a minimum level of protection or the threat is so high it’s more than warranted.
Either way I’m excited to see more companies coming out with solutions for low-vis work.
I did – in my mind. Instead of putting on two things, which stretches my skill level, It’s just one. For warrants, surveillance , interdiction, I’m digging it, big time. I can see it under a baggy sweatshirt, or something equally stiff, like a Carhartt coat, which is body armor for us rural types.
“like a Carhartt coat, which is body armor for us rural types.”
Lol
I just think it’s great that someone finally made a plate carrier that makes it look like you duct taped your plates to your chest
The top lip of the rear plate would stick out like dog’s balls! Best be wearing a hooded jacket/jumper to conceal it.
What makes it more concealable than their slick 6094s or their “psd” carriers?
All I can see is hypalon shoulder straps, but let’s be honest, that only takes away a couple of fractions of an inch of the shoulder area. You still have a plate shaped shape on your body…
