i really want one of these (the glock 43), but I doubt that I gain anything more than what I already have in my S&W shield.

  What you gain is that this is a mini-Glock and shoots very well. The Shield doesn’t shoot like a mini-M&P. It shoots like a big striker fired Kel-Tec or other pocket pistol. The 43 is so much more shootable.
