I would like someone at Browning to actual think about their target market (pun intended). An ammunition manufacturer again gives performance data for 3.75″ barrels for .380 AUTO, 4.0″ barrels for 9mm Luger and .40 S&W, and 5.0″ inch barrels for .45 ACP. Appropriate for comparison to other manufacturers products, but lacking for real world applications. If you look on GoogleDocs for the PocketAutoComparison.pdf, you will see that many pistols in common use do not have barrels as long as the test barrels used by Browning. How about also showing the performance in shorter test barrels, for example, 3″, 4″ and 4.25″ barrels for .45 ACP, 3.5″ barrels for .40 S&W, 3.0″ and 3.5″ for 9mm Luger, and 2.0″, 2.5″, 2.75″, 3.0″ and 3.35″ for .380 AUTO? That 211 foot-pounds of muzzle energy may look acceptable for the .380 AUTO, until you learn what the actual value may be in a Seecamp 2.06″ barrel or a Ruger LCP 2.75″ barrel. How will this .45 ACP ammunition perform in a Colt Defender with a 3.0″ barrel, or a Colt Commander with a 4.25″ barrel?
