Dear SSD,
This carbine showed up on “House of Cards”. Is it the first public view of LMT’s Suppressor Upper Receiver Group candidate fir SOCOM or did someone in the prop department give tge actor a rifle with no barrel?

Dear Karl,
We’re going to punt and crowdsource this one. Although, we’re leaning toward “short barrel” rather than “SURG”.
Perhaps a reader has some insight?

Judging from the light falling on the interior rail surface i’d say there’s no barrel at all in there
SURG minimum 11.5″ barrel plus SOME assumed suppressor / fore-of-crown mechanism… Even if it was a 100% ported, nothing in front of muzzle design… Don’t see it possible in this envelope.
Regardless, I bet those actors felt like “bad-asses”, but right back to saying how firearms are “icky”, even ones without barrels.
Yeah! And I bet they were filthy transgender Obama loving liberals, who pee in the wrong bathroom! While Berning it down!
5 Star Shitpost. Would read again.
Calm down man. You got pretty triggered there huh?
Calmer than you are.
knock it off, dimwit
Except that everyone in that scene are actual Navy SEALS. The show films very close to the Naval Academy. They went out and got the real thing. So, dead wrong on the “wanna-be badasses who hate guns”. These are actual badasses.
And there are barrels in those rifles.
Mystery solved.
Well, it’s Maryland. Still anti-gun.
If they are SEALS, then they’re not confirmed badasses until their books say they are……
There is defiantly a integral suppressed barrel in there.
Thanks for the answer, Geno.
Is the suppressed barrel being defiant? I’m confused.
Yes, it decided not to show up for work.
I LOL’d
I lol’d as well.
I don’t think it’s the SURG. Like Kel said it’d be way too short. I doubt LMT is gonna hand over a prototype to a prop department.
Probably just a short barrel with a longer rail that someone thought looked cool.
I am here just to read the comments while sipping coffee – hoping not to spill it all over.

Good trigger finger discipline.
I hate that show, but keep watching ’cause I have to find out who’s decomposing in the 55 gallon drum seen in the opening credits.
Talked to my friends at ISS who provide a significant amount of the weapons we see in movies and tv shows. They didn’t supply it but it looks like an SBR to them.
Looks like an MRP with a rifle length rail and either short barrel or no barrel. No way that’s a surg setup as the room in the rail is too small
