ADS Federal Range Day – Trijicon RMR Type 2 Battery Compartment Update

Earlier this week, Trijicon released the RMR Type 2 which has a variety of new features including a button lockout mode as well as a battery conservation mode which auto adjusts to ambient lighting conditions (sleep mode) after 16.5 hours of inactivity. Additionally, there are eight intensity settings, including two night vision and one super bright setting. The CR2032 battery will last for four years on brightness setting four, or for five years in dark storage. And yes, it uses the same currently available mounting solutions.

But to users the biggest improvement is in the battery case. In this SSD exclusive you can see the new battery compartment for the CR 2032 battery. In addition to additional contacts, they’ve also incorporated a rubber gasket to mitigate shock to the battery while firing.

Awesome news. Many Thanks for the pic.

I like Trijicons scopes but they need to make these so you can change the battery without taking it apart.

The battery lasts for several years. With all the features and capability this thing packs, the requirement to remove it for a battery change, again every few years, doesn’t even register on my radar.

I guess I still don’t understand why they can’t make the access to the battery on the top like many other companies have done. I know, I’m probably nit picking, but it does seem like a worthwhile feature.
