The team at Grey Ghost Precision started the design process with a billet blank of American made, certified 17-4PH Stainless Steel; chosen for its high levels of strength, hardness and corrosion resistance.
Additionally, the 17-4PH also maintains a level of machinability, which allows the engineers to hold critical tolerance to .003″; ensuring the reliability and accuracy loyal customers of all of Grey Ghost Precision’s products come to know and expect.
Available in two designs, each with strategically placed patterns that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but functional for slide manipulation. Customers will be able to choose from Black Nitride or various color options in DLC (Diamond-like Carbon).

Aww… Cute.
I have multiple lowers from GGP and one of Grey Ghost’s backpacks, as well as a friend with one of their complete rifles and zero problems with any of it to date. The lowers are of a high quality finish and the rifles are pretty tuned with quality finish and build. The pack is basic but of quality stitching and material which helps with durability…and I’ve beat the damn thing pretty hard with use. Grey Ghost is good in my book. Pending price I may look further into this slide…even if it is mainly cosmetic.
How about a milled G43 slide so I can put a shield RMS on it and go all “baby roland” with it.

‘All critical dimensions held within .003?’
That is pretty poor IMO.
.003″ is not that tight, it’s roughly the thickness of a sheet of lined notebook paper, +- .0003″ is relatively tight and not that hard to achieve. 17-4 PH is not a good choice IMO. It can and does rust very easily. I’ve been in medical device mfg. shops where the go to steel was 17-4PH. Everything we made rusted quickly. It’s what our customers wanted, though.
I hope you’re not an engineer because the assertions you’ve made are untrue.
A sheet of paper is somewhere around .004 inches thick. A human hair is closer to .003 inches. There’s a significant difference there.
As for the steel in question. It’s extremely common in the firearms and aircraft industries due to its strength and corrosion resistance. In case you didn’t know, rust is corrosion. Even then it and is invariably coated in order to further protect it, as in this case.
