The mineral coated panels provide traction in all conditions while the acrylic adhesive ensures adhesion on plastics, metals, and composites in a wide range of temperatures. The M-LOK Grip Enhancement Tape does not appreciably impact the circumference of the gripping area, all while providing a gripping surface that is superior to most rail panels on the market.

Delivered in a pack of seven, each panels can be trimmed down to user-specific lengths or configurations.

Designed to be compatible with all hand guards that meet the outlined dimensions in the Magpul M-LOK TDP and Made in the USA with American materials.

    Dang, sold out already!

We’ve now had several years of heavy, expensive to manufacture, metal fore ends, most of which need some sort of accessory to facilitate the weapon-to-human-operator-interface.

I’m thinking that we are ripe for a revolution in rifle furniture, perhaps something like a standardized, light-but-durable, “hand guard”, perhaps made of an advanced engineering theromplastic, such as Zytel, and lined inside with a some sort of heatshield, and maybe with the outside stamped or textured with some sort of grid or waffle-pattern which is easy to grip with a human hand.

Is the idea behind this like putting tallon grips on a pistol?

I like to think of this as more of an alternative to the Magpul Type 1 Rail Cover. Lower profile with one single pack able to outfit a whole rail instead of buying multiples.

However I can also see some similarities to a Talon grip but then again we can’t really stipple a metal hand-guard lol.

Neat idea, and I’m sure it’s quality. I am dubious of adhesives on hot metal, however, and without these being much help for insulating the hands from heat, I’m not sure I’d buy any. I’ve started to think that modularity creates it’s own set of problems that are not always a better way to go. The vast, vast majority of shooters reap little actual benefit from “free-floating” forends, other than having unexercised options. Myself included. Those that do benefit have driven the development of the platform, and I do appreciate that.

Hey, I appreciate the feedback and concern!

The strips are capable of maintaining adhesion from -40 degrees F to 175 Degrees F. So long as you follow the install instructions and fall within this range there should be no issues!

Yup, this probably won’t help much with heat. It’s geared more for people that like running the bare rail for whatever reason (slim profile, more positive purchase, etc).

This has me wondering why no one has textured their MLOK rails yet with some kind of checkering or other high friction pattern. It would probably help with heat dissipation too to some extent.

Actual it does exist, check out the Enhanced M-LOK Handguards, Gen 2 by Aero Precision, it has… “Gen 2 Feature – Additional milling along flats to aid with gripping”
