Cyclops needs to get his finger off the trigger.
Doesnt look like its on the trigger its below the mag release
Hell no. That booger picker is on the trigger. Man, the 90’s were crazy!
Enlarge that photo, you can see the bottom of the trigger Behind his finger
You win the prize!
Cool story. The whole internet thanks you for your observation. Millions were saved, the whole bus stood up and clapped.
*stares at dust cover*
BRO! It drives me crazy when I see opened dust covers and actual target engagement isn’t occurring.
Thank God it was a photoshoot then for a magazine cover!
Look at that sweet chrome bolt carrier though…
No comment on that Zero gen Aimpoint or whatever it is? Seriously, what is that?
Aimpoint Mk 3 or 1000 perhaps.
Aimpoint MkIII with 3x magnifier attached. Circa 83/84” IIRC
Great example of the Air Force Franken-gun “GAU.” The E1 lower is a tell. Given the date it could be an updated GUU5P but it could still be in a modified GAU5A/A configuration. Most had been rebarreled a time or two by then and had ditched the moderator for an A1 flash hider. But, the last unmolested true 5A/A I saw still in service was in ’06. I say in service, it was in mobility storage but it’s not often you see a true XM177 marked lower. Spent a lot of time working on those things and saw some interesting stuff.
Believe it or not, this gear was super advanced for 1991- comms in a helmet configuration, NVG’s of that caliber and generation, weapon accessories, etc.
Most of us in SOF were rocking an LCE and patrol cap, with hardly any NVG capability for patrolling. For runway clearing, the bikers got NVG’s and several other key leaders, that’s it.
“Hey, guys! Look at this cool 27 year old pic and see how far we’ve come!”
REEEEEEEE!!!! FINGER!!!! FINGER!!!!
Pretty much
in 20 years we will laugh at where we are at now.
Cool looks like PVS-7As with torture device, aka head/face harness. And the Military-Industrial Complex at its best with the propriety lithium hockey puck battery. My unit used these in Somalia in 1993.
Probably too far down the webpage to see comments anymore… but I couldn’t not post. I think I broke Mongo’s nose when he was riding on the back of my motorcycle on a runway clearing mission in `95. I had barely learned to ride the thing solo and he jumps on back to get a ride. I start to wheelie and hold on tighter to the handles …which happens to be the throttle so *more* wheelie. Finally, we drop back down and he plants his face on the back of my helmet, no goggles in place I guess.
Can I “Cool story, bro” myself?
That is awesome
