Century Arms Announces New Lifetime Warranty for VSKA AK Rifle

DELRAY BEACH, Florida – (FEBRUARY 15, 2019) – Century Arms, North America’s premier AK manufacturer, is proud to announce their new heavy duty AK rifle, the VSKA, is now backed with a Lifetime Warranty.

Announced in October 2018, the 2019 VSKA (vis-kuh) from Century Arms represents the latest in an American-built AK rifle. Critical components are machined from S7 tool steel, including the bolt carrier, front trunnion and feed ramp, all heat-treated for maximum durability. S7, often referred to as a “Shock-Resisting Tool Steel,” is commonly used for tools like chisels and jackhammer tips as it has maximum shock resistance and high compression strength, while retaining toughness. The front trunnion and bolt are machined from billet and exceeded the durability goals for the project. Additionally, the VSKA features a nitro-carburized 4140 steel bolt, a chrome-moly 4150 barrel, and sports the RAK-1 Enhanced Trigger Group for an impressive trigger pull. Along with a magnesium-phosphate finish, Century adds a little style to the heavy-duty brute with an American Maple wood buttstock and forend.

Each VSKA ships with one 30-round standard-capacity magazine and has an MSRP of $735.95.

“We are extremely proud of this product and the value it delivers to AK enthusiasts”, says Jason Karvois, Director of Sales for Century Arms. “The addition of this new lifetime warranty to every VSKA backs our belief that this rifle, whose development included an unprecedented level of testing for the platform, will perform for years to come.”

In addition to new purchasers, the warranty will be available for all VSKA rifles purchased prior to this announcement. Owners should keep their receipts as they will be required for warranty service. Learn more about the VSKA at centuryarms.com.

I think that is supposed to be manganese-phosphate finish

I love, love, love this. Wonder how MAC and his cohorts, Definitive arms and Rob Ski from akoperators union will try and skew tests now. I would put money on it this is a direct reaction from all those ‘tests’.
Oh look the barrel pin fell out!!! definitely wasn’t from us removing it, reaming the hole and reinserting and then doing the test. nooooooooo…..

I think some of the tests they perform are a bit over the top, however the failures I’ve seen never seem to be unfair.

These new trunions are machined, which while better than cast are not as strong as forged so it will be interesting to see how they stack up.

My gut tells me that a vast majority of guys who buy from CA are buying first AK and generally only fire occasionally, in which case the lifetime warranty is nice but most rifles won’t see a lot of stress so it’s likely a low cost thing for CA. I’m not worried about a rifle having issues after 1-2k grounds generally, but ramping up to 5k is where it becomes concerning.

I agree with your viewpoint but feel there are nefarious goals behind some of these tests. People who aren’t versed in how aks go together dont understand how easy it is to removed a barrel pin, ream, reinsert barrel pin and test. Then have ‘headspace’ problems after 1k rounds.
I just find it very hard to believe certain, dare I even assign legitimacy to them ‘testers, have such different results from others who test rifles assembled from the same factory. Plus for the informed there are easily found connections behind the scenes, especially with the three I mentioned above who are never up front about how they benefit from trashing one firearm and then proceeding to fawn over another they have a financial interest in but don’t divulge to the users.
I actually think that might be illegal. If memory serves correct people on instagram got in trouble for pitching products and not telling followers they had an interest in them. This is the same thing. There are some shady people in this industry who put their own greed over honesty. Which is sad, but human nature for the weak minded.
