Magpul Introduces PMAG D-50 Magazines for Glock and MP5
Magpul has expanded their D50 offerings.
D50 DM
The PMAG D-50 MP is a 50 round drum magazine compatible with the Heckler & Koch MP5 and HK 94.
D50 GL9 – GLOCK
The D59 GL9 – GLOCK is optimized for double-stack 9mm GLOCK handguns.
Both models of the D50 accept up to 50 rounds of 9x19mm Parabellum ammunition and boasts many of the proven features of their existing 9mm drums, the PMAG D-50 EV9 – CZ Scorpion EVO 3.
Easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance, the D50 incorporates a high-visibility follower and a capacity indication roller and rounds remaining window.

Glock mags come in two categories: factory and everything else. Out of the aftermarket, Magpul are the only ones that are worth trying. ETS and KCI are hot garbage. You a Promag-in-my-XD guy, Joe?
Magpul does a ton of R&D… these probably work. And they’re made in the US.
Do you think they just designed this over Christmas vacation? They’ve been working on this for more than a year. They know what they are doing. And $120 is far from “premium” pricing.
The only thing I’d worry about as far as reliability would be the Glocks mag catch considering all of the weight of a loaded drum…and that is easy enough to remedy. As for Magpul and their reliability, as Jack said they do a ton of r&d so I’d venture a guess that if they are confident in bringing them to market that they probably work just fine.
And there are plenty of 5.56 drum mags that are cheaper than the D-60, but as we have seen, you get what you pay for. There isn’t another 5.56 drum that I would trust for real world use. As you said, I think their reputation in this exact product category is probably a pretty clear indicator of reliability.
We don’t even know if the reliability of this new product backs up the premium pricing.

50% of the time they’re 75% reliable, usually…… I don’t know what happened this time. Must be the Ammo

The D60 is fantastic (other than loading), I’d be willing to be these are just as good.
$120 seems reasonable for this type of magazine. With current ammo prices it would cost more to keep those mags full. 🙂
I assume MAGPUL would want to get in on the Sig 320 train, but anyone heard anything official?
I have asked about this and it all comes down to magwell size and the thickness of polymer magazine walls. It is very difficult to do.
