Safariland Announces Distribution Agreement with Busch PROtective

Safariland to Now Offer New Innovative Ballistic Protection Helmet Solutions

Jacksonville, Florida – Safariland® Armor, a brand of The Safariland Group®, a leading global provider of safety products designed for the public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets and one of Cadre Holdings, Inc.’s (NYSE: CDRE) (“Cadre”) key brands, announced today a national distribution agreement with Busch PROtective.

“The collaboration between Safariland and Busch PROtective will bring advanced ballistic protection to a greater number of law enforcement agencies,” James Duncan, VP/GM of Armor for Safariland said. “This strategic relationship will expand the availability of Busch PROtective’s state-of-the-art ballistic helmets designed for the specific needs of local, state, and federal law enforcement such as the DEA, FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and ATF.  Safariland is thrilled to add these innovative armor solutions to the options we provide for those who serve.”

“The collaboration with Safariland is a perfect fit,” Scott Wyatt, President of Busch PROtective, added, “Our team will be able to provide unique innovative helmet solutions to those who need them most, by utilizing Safariland’s industry-leading law enforcement distribution network. Our helmet systems, which range from premier Ballistic protection, SAR/Training, to Riot Control, offer world-class performance in lightweight designs that are as comfortable as they are robust. We’re excited to join forces with Safariland and to do our part to further Safariland’s mission: ‘Together, we save lives’.”

Busch PROtective’s ballistic helmets meet the widely referenced National Institute of Justice (NIJ Standard 0106.01) Level IIIA test standard. In addition, the Busch PROtective AMP-1TP helmet system is designed for the demanding needs of  Federal and Domestic law enforcement agencies and public safety missions and meets the new DEA-FBI Ballistic Helmet Protocol V1.0-2019 as well as the European VPAM-3 standard.  Introduced to US law enforcement in 2019, the DEA-FBI Protocol has become the defining real-world ballistic performance evaluation that tests against projectile penetration specifically limiting energy transfer during ballistic events to help reduce possible TBI, ballistic resistance in both hot and cold temperature extremes, edge protection, hardware testing & reduced blunt trauma.

Through the new agreement with Busch PROtective, Safariland will handle domestic US sales and distribution of Busch PROtective helmets & accessories. For more information on Busch, please visit www.safariland.com/pages/busch-protective.

I could not find the weights anywhere on the web page or the catalog. Although not standard, the “emergency” chinstrap removal was interesting I thought. While I doubt there’s ever an emergency where it’s more practical than the buckle, I thought it was a great idea for rehabbing the helmet with a new chinstrap. Nobody likes taking apart sweat corroded bolts to replace their chinstrap. Another nice feature is the buckle extension for CBRNE from the manufacturer. Only one other company comes to mind that offers this and in a world of Chinese off spec or proprietary buckles that’s appreciated. I see it says North American local assembly not “made in”. Where are these made? It suggests the Czech Republic but it’s not made clear.

as far as I know they have production facilities in Germany, Czech Republic and USA. HQ seems to be in Germany. That’s also the place where they claim to produce all the high end ballistic helmets of their product line.
Well done Safariland! Congrats to both companies!

      Ray & James,

Thanks for your input! To be clear, our ballistic shells are pressed in Germany using US fibers. We produce some of our components like harnesses & rails in Czech Republic, and then we also procure some of our components in the United States like our Wilcox Shrouds. We assemble, test, and build them in our facilities in California & Pennsylvania, where we also have distribution and warehousing.

      Cheers!
