  1. mark says:

I have the Gen 1 Pyrovault, which I bought the day it debuted on SSD years ago.

This 2.0 looks to be a nice upgrade; much better lanyard configuration, and the hinge looks beefier.

Adding a spare tinder piece is also inspired, as they can be ignited by the flint striker wheel of a zippo even when empty. This is really a good idea as theres no telling when the fuel on a zippo will give out.

I’m hoping the gasket of the 2.0 is tighter than my 1.0. Mine needed perhaps a tighter lock button, as it didnt squeeze the lid quite tight enough. It would last about 3 weeks before evaporation vs 1 week for a standard zippo – quite the improvement – but a tighter seal would have boosted fuel longevity into months.
