We’ve raved about Slangvel’s custom caps in the past. Check out these M43s in PenCott Camo.
We also told you that Italian combat uniform producer Special Operation Division would be producing uniforms in Hyde Definition’s patterns. Here’s your first look at the GreenZone pattern.

I’d love to get some…but my inner normal person won’t let me spend money on extra stuff right now. I would suppose if this stuff wins in Poland’s trials that it doesn’t have a shot for ours.
@Aaron – I don’t see why winning in Poland would rule out the US. Lots of different branches and countries currently share MultiCam, Woodlland, UCP, DPM, digi-woodland (ie MARPAT), etc.
Has Hyde submitted the very same pattern for the US and Poland trials?
Boy, that desert patt sure looks a lot like desert MARPAT. Since the camos here all have the same underlying patt, just different color pallets, you’d expect the greenzone to look like the woodland MARPAT. But it doesnt, becuase Hyde uses more colors and blends them together more than MARPAT – something you cant see in the muted desert patt as well. This begs the question – is this patt superior to the venerable MARPAT, or is it simply gilding the lily? I’d certainly like to see a head-to-head test. And the transitional patt is an unknown entity, so I’d def like to see how that does in sveral environs that could be called “transitional.” Man, I’m dying to see the tests with these patts, and the A-TACS and SSN CQB/XQB patts.
Strike-Hold,
I understand what you’re saying…but for some reason I think they might not necessarily choose the best pattern if it gets adopted by another country “first.” If we get it first I don’t think the Machine cares who copies us, however, I think they care about branding and want to be recognizable as Americans when doing security and presence patrols. It would have been cheaper if the Corps didn’t do the whole copyright thing and go: “you can’t use this, neener neener neener.” But that Coyote vest isn’t helping them either.
Well, they’re not the exact same patterns that have been submitted. So, we’ll see.
As far as the science project goes, the powers that be claim that they are looking for best performance.
However, at some point, the Army leadership is going to look at branding. This is where issues like exclusivity and cost will come up.
