The Black Powder Red Earth x Opie Way MultiCam Black Hi-Top is Now Available for Pre-Order

Inspired by court and baseball shoes built between 1920 and 1970, this collab is very much a classic American shoe and represents both brands commitment to building products of unequaled quality. Everything sourced in the USA minus the sole (which is made in Italy).

Handmade in America, each pair is stitched with A&E #69 Bonded Nylon Thread, and features MultiCam Black Cordura lined with black lightweight 100% cotton canvas, a black Italian cupsole, leather reinforcement, Poron insole for cushioned support, 100% cotton American Legacy natural glazed laces, and American made black nickel eyelets.

Available via pre-order on their website until July 18, the shoes are expected to ship in October 2024.

    $525!?!? Are you fucking nuts!?!?

    • Eric G says:

This obviously isn’t for you. That’s okay. Just like no one cares that I think a Lamborghini is overpriced, no one cares that you can’t afford these shoes. Some can and will buy them.

      • Jeremy P. says:

Not sure I see what value these bring over equivalent MCB Altamas besides rarity, but then to your point, sneakerheads have other priorities.

      • the dude says:

They’re manufactured for less than $10 in SEA with off the shelf designs, and a custom embossed logo. Wow.
Brain cells and dignity aren’t for everyone either. That’s okay. I grew up in a community where R8’s where as common as Accords in yours, no one cares Eric.

        • the dude says:

Okay. Apparently these are made here. Still not $500. I have some nice Italian calfskin shoes styled like chucks, and they’re only $400~.

Reading is Fundamental. Made in the USA. Don’t come in and shit on people while being wrong. It makes you look like a dipshit.

    • Geoff says:

They are aimed at a cosplay comic book, err graphical novel, audience and that’s it. You’d probably be hard pressed to find any in a size larger than 9.

Sounds reasonable, take my money!!!! Lol

Jon Chang has a bad habit of doing pricy runs for niche projects that he thinks are cool and then counting on the BPRE fanbase to fund them. The BPRE fanbase has enough money to throw at this sort of stuff that he keeps getting away with it. At least he’s learned enough from the MCB AVS fiasco to make this a preorder, which means that these are semi-custom shoes which would *partially* explain the absurd price.

These items aren’t for me, and that’s Ok. I do love BPRE and hate that I have to wait so long between new com…graphic novels to come out. I did get their engraved lighter though. It looks good in my office.
