SOF Select 25 – HUXWRX

The latest suppressor form HUXWRX is referred to as “Black Magic” due to the internal string of letters used to describe the design.

This 5.56 can uses their patented flow through design. It’s printed from Inconel 718 with an Armorlube coating which acts similarly to DLC.

Here you can see the locking collar.

It is used with a printed and machined Inconel flash hider. It’s not a good idea to combine suppressors and muzzle devices form different materials due to varied wear. They print the blank and then do the finish work.

Making non HUB compatible products is a shame…

    • Rob says:

Nah. Hub is for hobbyists that want to play legos. A professional organization that is procuring a system is better served by an integrated product with less points of failure.

It doesn’t matter, it’s a more or less common standard on a consumable. It brings down cost and broadens adaptability. That concept is something everyone is going to have to get used to – pursue commonality and cost over bleeding edge stove-pipes. Can you imagine someone selling AR barrels that don’t fit AR’s?

You guys are confusing professional users and the commercial market. They’re two very different things. Rob’s comment above is spot on, HUB adaptors are for the commercial market. A HUB adaptor isn’t even practical in the employment of this suppressor on the weapon platforms its intended for.

HUX Wrx cans are designed to have optimal performance with their specific muzzle devices, this has been stated by them and is also why you never see HUX cans walking off, whereas plenty of HUB users have had issues with threads coming loose from improper installs or manufacturing QC/QA from different companies. KAC and Surefire are the same way since they make products for professionals first not hobbyists. HUB is great for the commercial market for guys with several different cans, but it is in no way the most secure or “best” mounting system compared to a MD that was designed in conjucntion with the specific can.

Any other muzzle device other than those from huxwrx reduces the performance of their suppressor significantly. It’s a shame that the consumer market is pursuing this HUB nonsense. It’s not better than a dedicated MD, it causes more failures, it changes the performance of the suppressor from what the manufacturer designed it for.

What u need isn’t a hub system but a muzzle device mounting standard. We find the 3 most dominant, reliable and strong mounting systems and we design suppressor to mount on the best one. It should be a simple taper with threads and manufacturers are then allowed to add whatever secondary locking mechanism they see fit. You will then have suppressors that fit on any muzzle device on the market out the box but if you want optimal performance, you buy the manufacturer’s muzzle device.

There will still proprietary muzzle devices but they will only be a few of them for special cases.

Nothing to argue with , it’s a USB-micro in a world of random chargers. Definitely worth a C PD upgrade, how does it get there?
