The Warrior Protection and Readiness Coalition (WPRC) announced yesterday that ForceProtector Gear, Silynx Communications (Silynx) and Wilcox Industries (Wilcox) have joined the organization and will participate in its effort to promote the tactical clothing and equipment industry.
The three new Coalition members are unique organizations producing mission-critical equipment. ForceProtector Gear designs and manufactures new and innovative tactical nylon equipment for the military with a mission to replace legacy items with compelling new designs. Silynx Communications, Inc. is a world leader in software defined micro soldier systems with hearing protection/enhancement capability. Wilcox is an industry leader in the design and production of high quality tactical equipment for use by the Department of Defense and Federal Agencies.
In just under two years, the WPRC has grown from a concept to the leading voice in advocacy for the domestic industry that supplies American service members with the clothing and tactical equipment critical for mission success. The WPRC membership speaks with a single and increasingly strong voice on the issues that impact domestic manufacturing and the safety of American military personnel in harm’s way. It seems peculiar that this organization is headed up by a TLS distributor while all other members consist of manufacturers of defense and safety articles. Is this organization exclusive of ADS, and a partial listing of their preferred vendor list. Why wouldn’t other established defense suppliers such as TSSI, Source One and W.S. Darley (TLS Contract holders) not be involved?
Just weird that after 2 years WPRC has not taken on manufacturers or suppliers other than ones underneath the influence of a Prime Vendor…
Looking at the list of WPRC members I have a hard time seeing how they are underneath the influence of a TLS vendor. It seems that they sell to everyone and anyone. Have any companies been denied membership in the WPRC?
Good question on the being rejected by WPRC as I doubt any would announce that their application was rejected and that doesn’t appear to be public information (who applies, who is accepted or rejected.).
As far as influence, you can sell to every supplier but if you provide one supplier 10-20% better pricing than others to be a preferred vendor, then you are being influenced. Secondly, if you just take a look at the preferred vendor agreement, it is spelled out there.
So you’re saying that Duro, W L Gore, DuPont, Honeywell, Brookwood, etc are all under the influence of 1 TLS vendor? The major suppliers for raw materials for military gear are all puppets of one company? Bullshit
