Last year we showed you a glimpse of a developmental Dutch camouflage pattern called Netherlands, Fractal Pattern Green (NFP Green). A photo recently turned up of members of the 104 Commandotroepencompagnie on a training trip to Israel wearing the pattern. However, as some of the unit members were also wearing the Dutch version of 3-Color Desert as well as MultiCam, it would seem that NFP still isn’t a dine deal.

As the KCT is the test and knowledge center for everything related to infantry and foot-soldiers in the Dutch military. It is no surprise they get a first look. It doesn’t mean anything other that that the pattern and uniform is being tested as we speak.
As Gerard said. Also it is not the Green variant, but rather a Tan version. This is a version meant for operations in arid-colored theaters.
Don’t think it’s the tan version. The green is too prominent.

It’s the tan version, if you look closely at the colours you can see they’re the same as seen at Multicam. Also, the velcro is in tan, while NFP Green has green velcro.
Ipkiss: Private purchases shouldn’t be a factor when picking the right camouflage, effectiveness should be.
Interesting pattern. I always liked the DPM that the Dutch wore… but new camo is good too. Some of the new patterns coming out of Europe are just awesome!
Does anyone know that if also Dutch Marines will be using this this pattern, or is it army only? That is, if they even start widespread use…
However I also remember this article
https://ssdaily.tempurl.host/2012/08/09/breaking-news-dutch-seeking-new-combat-uniforms/
In which the Dutch army is requesting an initial series of NFP jackets and pants. However, this seems to be an testing lot also.
And yes the new pattern is also to be worn by the Dutch Marines.
I’m still crossing my fingers for multicam though, just because it leaves the men with more options for private purchase.
Gerard is right, the new pattern is only being tested. It is (as far as we know) still waiting for approval by the dutch commander-in-chief, general Tom Middendorp.
I totally agree with Ipkiss, a lot of extra ‘things’ have also an option for Multicam. Also I think that Multicam is nicer.
By the way, I don’t know if this are tests, Ministry of Defence says that the new Clothing comes out in 2014, in that time they can still choose the Multicam as new camo.
