SHOT Show – Taurus

DSC05369

The Curve is one of the more unique pistols to be shown at SHOT Show. Chambered for .380 ACP, the Curve is designed specifically for right-side pocket carry, with its curved design and integrated belt clip. Its smooth, snag-free design, according to Taurus, ensures no visible printing when concealed.

The Curve has a “bore-axis sighting system”, where the three lines on the back of the slide function as the sighting system; the Curve has no iron sights. To make up for this, the Curve can be purchased with an integrated light and laser combo, which is built into the frame.

The magazine features a 6-round capacity, and is removed from the pistol by depressing both side tabs and pulling down.

If someone uses one of these that does not have the laser for a defensive situation, and they miss and hit an unintended bystander, Taurus is going to be sued, and they stand a big chance of losing big.

      i really doubt that

+1, lots of pocket pistols don’t have any sights at all.

Meanwhile, the fight or flight response triggers over 100 physiological changes in the human body, including the ability of the eyes to focus on close objects. (Siddle goes into this in “Sharpening the Warriors Edge,” as well as Murray’s “Training at the Speed of Life.”)

Responding to the a surprise fight at pocket pistol distances, the effects of the fight or flight response are going to negate any type of sights for all but the most stress inoculated individual.

    Did they announce an MSRP…?

  3. I read about this side arm a while ago on the Taurus web site. They have definitely been thinking outside of the box with this design. Can’t wait to get back to CONUS to try one! Wonder if they are going to offer other calibers?

It’s great to see this kind of innovation in the industry. This, and the Taurus view revolver. I don’t own any of their products, but I look forward to seeing what they come up with next.

I suppose it is better than a sharpened stick…..

But seriously, with so many better options, why????

  6. Haji says:

Thinking outside the box is only awesome if the box has been mastered and perfectly executed.
