Thursday, November 14th, 2019

Utilizing Artificial Intelligence, the system delivers comprehensive usage data regarding the weapon’s operational status, ensuring optimized performance and a tactical edge

Milipol Paris 2019, France, November 19-22, Hall 5, Stand C038

November 11, 2019. WeaponLogic (Secubit) ? a leader in advanced weapon readiness and maintenance solutions for global military and paramilitary forces as well as law enforcement and HLS agencies ? unveils for the first time at Milipol Paris the WeaponLogic™ Eco Systems for the management of large caliber weapon system fleets. Utilizing Artificial Intelligence, the system delivers comprehensive usage data regarding the weapon’s operational status, ensuring optimized performance and a tactical edge. This solution for heavy weaponry is the company’s latest development, expanding its established line of systems for the management of light weaponry that provides precision, preemptive maintenance to customers in countries across Europe, North America and Asia. The systems for both light and heavy weapons will be presented at Milipol.

WeaponLogic’s advanced system, based on artificial intelligence, supplies data for maintenance as well as operational and tactical optimization according to actual use. The solution was already evaluated with outstanding results for several large caliber firearms including mortars, artillery and tank cannons. The system’s sophisticated algorithm collects and records comprehensive weapon firing data in real time and delivers updated status information regarding the current state of the weapon and the potential for future malfunctions, based on the degree of wear and tear exerted on the weapon during usage. This data enables the creation of a relevant, customized maintenance plan for each specific device.

The system consists of a Sensor and Applications.

WeaponLogic Smart Sensor – The sensor is a chip that fully integrates into any type of weapon: pistol, rifle, sniper rifle, crew-served weapon and mortar.  It comes in a variety of form factors to accommodate different firearms. The chip records and gathers information in real time regarding the use of the weapon ? including the amount and type of ammunition used, rate of fire, single or automatic shots, dry fires and drops, time signature, and type of weapon. WeaponLogic Smart Sensor utilizes AI to distill information regarding the weapon and its operational state. The sensor weighs only 20 grams and has over a million-shot memory.

WeaponLogic Applications – The Reader and Dashboard applications provide a complete weapon and operator profile. A smart algorithm processes a unique signal to define and analyze data gathered from all smart sensors.  The applications offer a user-friendly interface and an ability to manage the maintenance of the weapons, including but not limited to: round counts, assigned users, service history, service recommendations, armorer maintenance history, battery status, etc.

Both applications provide usage data and analytics reflecting the weapon’s operational status for preventive and precise maintenance, along with inventory management and tactical features.

WeaponLogic’s Head of Sales, Ruby Shasha, expressed great satisfaction with the company’s recent win, remarking, “We are proud to announce that, following rigorous testing, we have received an order from the customer for the supply of the WeaponLogic system for mortars to a European country, with the system already in operational use. WeaponLogic has been selected and is being used in a number of countries around the world ? rapidly gaining popularity due to its ease of operation, its significant impact on resource savings, and its suitability for a wide range of weapons and artillery.”

Critical Gear Cases with Optional Signal Blocking

Sunnyvale, CA – Thyrm is excited to announce the launch of their latest products; the DarkVault™ and DarkVault-Comms™ Critical Gear Cases. Developed with input from military and law enforcement customers, the cases provide battlefield-grade levels of protection while keeping gear immediately accessible for navigation and communication tasks. For many users who are constantly powering down their gear due to active counter-surveillance, the DarkVault case can provide isolation without constant power-cycling. DarkVault cases also provide isolation for field-acquired assets/evidence.

Featuring the same protection but without the signal-blocking, the DarkVault-Comms cases keep gear safe while allowing it to remain on-line.

“Developing the proprietary material and case design was no small task, but our design team and industry partners did a great job and we’re absolutely thrilled with the final product” said Andrew Frazier, CEO of Thyrm. “We can’t wait to get it in the hands of our customers. “

DarkVault & DarkVault-Comms Cases Feature:

? Solid, battlefield-grade construction

? Gasket seal to keep out water, dust, & dirt

? Quick MOLLE attachment system for external and internal mounting options

? Tunable hinge friction for on-body navigation and communication tasks

? Accepts locks & tamper-evident devices to prevent access to internals & secures case to MOLLE.

? Internal and external adhesive-backed loop Velcro® panels for ID and organization (included)

DarkVault™ signal-blocking cases also feature:

? GPS and Cellular signal blocking polymer construction. 90+ dB (decibels) of signal reduction between 300 and 1500 MHz to block standard cell tower signals, GPS signals and more.

As with all Thyrm products, the DV and DVC cases are designed and made in the USA.

Grey Ghost Gear makes an IMPACT with their latest backpack design

Grey Ghost Gear Impact 24 Backpack

Wallace, ID – Grey Ghost Gear is revealing a new product to join their already diverse lineup of backpacks: the Impact 24.

Having designed a plethora of bags and backpacks in all shapes and sizes with specific civilian, Law Enforcement, and military roles in mind, it goes without saying that Grey Ghost Gear has a solid product offering already. Which begs the question: why a new backpack and what does it do that the other bags did not?

The answers lie with Grey Ghost’s own Senior Product Designer, who made the bag when he was commuting via bike every day. “I needed a more vertical backpack with a specific pocket configuration that I had not seen yet in any of our existing bags. I kept experimenting with tiered exterior pockets for all the essentials I needed in an average 24-hour period like my phone, wallet & keys, etc.… along with space for bike tools, patch kit and an extra tube in case of a flat. Most importantly, I wanted to truncate the main compartment in favor of a third exterior pocket at the bottom with maximum depth,” said Stephen Crowe, the designer behind Impact 24. Originally intended to house premade meals, this bottom pocket is spacious enough for cameras, small drones and other sensitive items that would otherwise get crushed if tossed into the main compartment with other items.”

Grey Ghost Gear Impact 24 Backpack

When the rest of the team at GGG saw the prototype, it was unanimous that it needed to join the ranks of Grey Ghost’s other urban-minded bags like the Gypsy or the Scarab. The main compartment of the Impact 24 is still roomy, despite the bottom wall that partitions it from the bottom pocket. Thanks to its structured walls, there’s plenty of protection for a larger drone, camera equipment, or a change of clothes. What really stands out are the organizational subtleties that were sprinkled in the right spots. There’s a laptop sleeve with an adjustable buckle, which is pretty standard these days. Flanking both sides however, are longer zippered pockets that are perfect for charging cords, snacks, or a couple wrenches. The front wall has a zippered mesh pocket, giving you more room for the aforementioned items.

Being constructed of Rip-Stop Nylon and 500-D Cordura® kept the bag lightweight and well balanced, perfect for anyone on the move; something you will appreciate if you ride your bicycle, motorcycle, skateboard or scooter to work. The structure and organized nooks and crannies are an immediate favorite for photographers and drone operators, including GGG’s own media department. “Being able to stow a small drone like a Mavic Pro in the bottom pocket, so that larger and heavier camera equipment can go into the main compartment, along with dedicated pockets for all the batteries, memory cards, power cords, docks, and lenses. “It really makes remote sessions easier without having to lug multiple cases or bags out into the field,” says Manuel Gutierrez, Grey Ghost’s wiz behind the lens.

Grey Ghost Gear Impact 24 Backpack

The exterior of the Impact 24 has four strings of daisy chain loops that line the left and right sides and parallel the front pockets. Daisy chains are your friend, especially if you ever need to clip or lash extra gear to your pack using carabiners, webbing straps or cordage. You can hang almost anything from a backpack using a system like this, from solar power chargers to a wet coat or a tarp. Finally, a worthy host for your novelty carabiner collection!

The back of the Impact 24 has thick mesh-lined padding to ensure for a comfortable all-day ride without the infamous sweat stain down your back. The mesh encourages ample airflow to the back as well as the underside of the adjustable shoulder straps, making the Impact 24 a favorite daily commuter.

Grey Ghost Gear Impact 24 Bag

The Impact 24 backpack is available now for preorder on GGG’s website for a limited introductory price of $105. Available in Black/Black Diamond, Wolf Grey/Black Diamond and Olive/Black Diamond color combinations, the Impact 24 has an MSRP of $175. “We wanted to literally make an Impact in the backpack market with the announcement of this new bag design” said Grey Ghost Gear CEO, Casey Ingels. “It checks a lot of boxes that we have heard from many of our off-duty and covert end users, as well as our own team members. We’re excited to see this bag out in the wild.”

Grey Ghost Precision Releases a SIGnificant new offering: GGP320 Slides

Friday, July 19th, 2019

Wallace, ID – Grey Ghost Precision is excited to announce the release of their newest product line: aftermarket slides for the SIG P320 platform.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

These new slides share the same precision engineering as the GLOCK aftermarket slides that GGP has been manufacturing for the past two years: the GGP17, GGP19 and SPG43. These new slides, dubbed the ‘GGP320’, are an aftermarket upgrade for your SIG P320 series pistol and will available in both compact and full-size lengths.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

Why branch out to support the P320 platform, as opposed to any one of the other striker-fire handgun platforms that have flooded the industry to date? As an end-user focused company, GGP consistently chooses to adapt when equipment requirements shift in the military and law enforcement realms. As the winning handgun of the United States Military Modular Handgun System trials, the M17 and M18 (P320 MHS variants) brought a new level of modularity to the U.S. professional lead farmer, and many Law Enforcement agencies are following suit by adopting it as well. The P320’s ability to be custom tailored to the individual user’s preferences in grip length, grip size, as well as slide length and sight radius are highly desirable options. By offering GGP320 aftermarket slides with a special twist, GGP is giving P320 users another level of customization with measurable results.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

“We are getting more requests from LE officers, DOD agents and professional door kickers that have been issued the newly adopted P320 platform. Some were already using our slides on their issued Glocks, but are now being issued the P320. So, they came back to us and asked for an aftermarket solution that fills their individual needs and requirements for their new sidearm” says Jason Curns, VP of Firearms at Grey Ghost Precision. “Just like our GGP17/19 and SPG43 slides, these GGP320 slides will offer an affordable and attainable option for online shoppers as well as dealers. Forget sending your P320 OEM slide in for costly modification at lengthy lead times, not to mention possibly scrapping your slide if the job isn’t done right. We were able to lighten the slide with aesthetic features, increase grip serrations and improve the coating without compromising function…. its a drop-in install and comes with all the enhancements that professional handgun shooters have come to expect from us.”

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

The first request that GGP received pertained to optics. Some users specifically wanted to use their preferred brand of MRDS optic on their P320, and not be limited to the SIG ROMEO1. Fortunately, GGP had already been down this road. You may recall that GGP engineered a hybrid MRDS optic footprint that simultaneously worked with both the Trijicon RMR or the slightly larger Leupold DeltaPoint Pro; two MRDS platforms that have a proven track record with firearms instructors and red dot users on the streets and on the sand. This dual compatibility optic cut is still featured in the GGP Combat Pistol line as well as the Version 3 and 4 of their GGP19/17 slides, all without the need for bulky adapter plates that raise the optic above the bore axis. GGP brought this same solution to the GGP320 design with the addition of a third box to check: the SIG ROMEO1. You read that right, the GGP320 slide works with the RMR, DPP, and ROMEO1 right out of the box.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slides

As for the aesthetic of GGP320 Version 1, the serrations have been cut with a gradual taper that gets deeper as it progresses up the slide. This machining technique was featured on the GGP17/19 Version 3 slide, and according to GGP, was a crowd pleaser as soon as it launched earlier this year at SHOT Show 2019. It provides the shooter with a more aggressive grip near the top of the slide for press checks and malfunction clearing drills, without interfering or compromising the material thickness of the slide’s rails. The top of the GGP320 features a window cut for weight balance, without allowing the ingress of large foreign debris to enter the slide. The Version 1 will be available in both compact and full length, as well as in either DLC or Cerakote finish.

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 SlidesGrey Ghost Precision GGP320 slide

When asked about the differing finish options, Jason Curns said, “We’ve found that Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) is an ideal finish for pistol slides due to its inherent lubricity and resistance to wear over time. However, with the M17 and M18 issued pistols having a coyote tan grip module, we opted to offer a Cerakote option as well to better match the color and appearance of those frames.”

Grey Ghost Precision GGP320 SlideGrey Ghost Precision GGP320 Slide

As for availability, GGP320 slides are available now for preorder on GGP’s website. GGP320 Compact Slides have an MSRP of $418.95 while the Full-Size slides have a $429.99 MSRP. According to GGP, these slides will be shipping by the end of August. “It was vital that we hit the market with serious momentum” said Grey Ghost Precision CEO, Casey Ingels. “We knew the demand for P320 aftermarket slides was going to be high, so we took steps to be first on the block with plenty of stock.” Be sure to subscribe to the Grey Ghost Precision email list to be alerted as more intel becomes available. Observations On SSD Comments

Saturday, July 6th, 2019

Lots of new commenters lately. Lots of comments not approved. Overall, behavior in the comments section has been less than admirable.

Unfortunately, I’ve got to remind a small minority of commenters that they are guests here and should act like appropriately while commenting. The fact that I even have to bring this up annoys me.

When PR agencies contact me, appalled at the behavior of my guests, I am embarrassed. I don’t like to be embarrassed.

However, here are a few tips:

-In general, don’t be a jerk. No one likes a jerk. If you act like a jerk, I’ll mark you as spam.

-If you create multiple accounts, I’ll mark you as spam.

-Don’t post something you wouldn’t say to the other person’s face.

-Stop being offended by everything.

-Refrain from the use of profanity.

-Remember you’re a guest. This is a dictatorship. You don’t have any rights of ‘free speech’ here. You want to wild out, do it elsewhere. I hear Facebook is great.

-You aren’t a victim, so don’t act like one. If you get called out, be an adult about it.

-I once dated a woman who was passive aggressive. If you are passive aggressive, I’ll have flashbacks. Don’t give me flashbacks.

-You aren’t a comedian. No really, you aren’t. I was recently in Vegas. I didn’t see you headlining a show.

-Having reminded you that you aren’t a comedian, yes, there will be some goofy stuff which I may share. Yes, you’re going to make fun of it. I understand.

-It’s ok to critique a product or company as long as you tell everyone why. “It’s expensive” isn’t a valid reason.

-No one cares that you can’t afford it.

-Don’t call anyone a Nazi or a racial epithet, even if you’d do it to their face.

-If I tell you to “eat a Snickers” or “take a knee and drink water” just relax. You’ve made your point and the horse is dead, dead, dead.

-This isn’t a challenge

-One more time. This isn’t a challenge.

The purge has already begun.
