Winkler Knives – Utility Crusher

Tuesday, June 8th, 2021

Last week’s Blade Show was the public debut of the Utility Crusher which replaces the SAR Knife in the Winkler line. The full tang construction from 80CrV2 retains the double cross guard as well as serrations along the spine of the blade.

The biggest change is the new pommel spike window breaker which is lower profile than on the SAR Knife which is less likely to catch your arm while wearing the knife on your belt.

Standard handle options include sculptured G10 and Micarta although they exhibited Oak handles at Blade Show.

I am told there are still some SAR Knives in stock so pick one up before they’re gone.

Post Falls, ID – (May 25, 2021) – Buck Knives, leader in sports cutlery, will be exhibiting at Blade Show in Atlanta, Georgia, June 4-6, 2021.

In a return to in-person events, Buck Knives will be attending the 40th annual Blade Show with an emphasis on its new product range, its engagement with the award winning BCCI (Buck Collectors Club), and the debut of a new mid-year release set for availability in August.  “Blade Show is the perfect venue to introduce the newest member of our premium everyday carry class, it’s a continuation of the direction many have noticed from Buck utilizing elite materials, technical features, and our iconic American craftsmanship,” said Chris Bourassa, Director of Marketing and Product Development.

Blade Show West Moving to Orange County, California

Thursday, February 11th, 2021

BLADE Show, the world’s largest knife show, has announced a major venue upgrade for its BLADE Show West exhibition. The 2021 event will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center in Orange County, California, on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9.

After months of searching for the best possible location for BLADE Show West, the BLADE Show staff unanimously concluded that Long Beach is the place to be.

“Many exhibitors and attendees who joined us in Portland, Oregon, for the past two West shows suggested ways we could improve on the experience. We listened and started looking for alternative locations. The Long Beach area has so much going for it that this was an easy decision,” said Alicia Newton, BLADE Show director.

“Foremost in our decision is the fact that Orange County is knife-friendly in ways that many of the other venues we considered are not. Management at the Long Beach Convention Center has been easy to work with and is genuinely excited about adding our event to their calendar. Exhibitors can expect great show traffic and hassle-free transactions.”

Long Beach has all the amenities that show attendees and exhibitors value. It’s easy to navigate, there are plenty of hotel options, and a huge variety of dining and entertainment options can be found within walking distance of the convention center. Further, the size and layout of the convention center lends itself to expansion in future years.

Additional details, including lodging information, will be posted regularly at bladeshowwest.com during the coming weeks, so check back often.

BLADE Show 2020 Officially Cancelled

Sunday, July 19th, 2020

With the 39th annual BLADE Show scheduled for Aug. 7-9, we have been receiving countless questions from exhibitors and attendees about the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the show and its guests.

Unfortunately, we have reluctantly come to the conclusion that it’s in the best interest of all concerned to cancel BLADE Show 2020.

Please know that we did not reach this decision lightly. Having been in daily contact with guests, exhibitors, local officials and the show venue for the past two months, it has become apparent that we cannot present a 2020 event that meets exhibitor and attendee expectations and BLADE Show standards.

While the state of Georgia continues to grapple with decisions about new guidelines and restrictions to deal with the pandemic, BLADE Show too recognizes its responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees.

BLADE Magazine and the BLADE Show staff appreciate the support we received from our many industry friends who worked with us to plan for the alternate August dates after we were forced to cancel the original June event.

TICKET REFUNDS

All current ticket holders will have the option to roll their early bird, daily tickets or 3-day passes over to the 2021 Show dates, June 4-6, 2021. Or you can opt to receive a full refund on your ticket purchases at this time.

Please email refunds@bladeshow.com to confirm whether you choose to roll over your admission tickets to 2021 or request the full refund.  BLADE University class purchases will be completely refunded.

Viking Tactics Knives

At Blade Show I got a chance to check out the three different knife models from Viking Tactics‘ Bloodline series.

Manufactured by TOPS Knives, they include the Patriot, Crusader and Norseman.

The Patriot features an overall length of 6.75 and a cutting surface of just over 3 inches.

Drawing from the Bloodlines of VTAC’s first ever knife design, “The Assault”, the Crusader is nearly 9 inches long and has a cutting surface 3 ½ inches in length.

Inspired by a knife made by one of SGM Lamb’s Soldiers who was killed in action in Iraq on 17 June 2005, the Norseman offers an overall length of 11.63” and a cutting surface of 5 ½ inches.

Common features include blades made from 1095 steel and hardened to RC 56-58, they all have a spine tastefully decorated with a Viking Vine, Blood Colored handle liners, and Micarta handles. Each also comes with a Kydex sheath.
