They’ve added 1.5″ to the design which accommodates the half moon cut out. It serves a variety of purposes but can be used to choke up on the blade for fine work with the blade.

Friday, June 8th, 2012

One of our favorite small US businesses is at Blade Show. Exotac is based in Georgia and offers a variety of survival and fire starter items. Now, they’re importing the FREEKey, designed by Swedish (hence the name) firm Drosselmeyer Design Group.

Once you get one, you can’t live without it. The simple design opens right up to accept keys. No more broken fingernails. It comes in two models, the FREEKey and the FREEKey system with smaller rings to group keys.

Seen here are several related Medford knives including the new Praetorian in its production form. This is a man’s knife as in, you have to man up to order one. But, once you do, Greg gives each one some special attention such as coated blades or the handle work seen here.

BLADE Show – Bawidamann Po’gn

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

Tactical Fanboy purchased a Po’gn knife from Bawidamann Blades at last weekend’s Blade Show. This is his impression.

Bawidamann was in full force at BLADE show, displaying both awesome pin-up art and awesome blades. Although I was practically drooling over the Randgridr they had on display (it’s a modern-day trench knife; what’s not to love?), I went with the cord wrapped Po’gn you see above. Made from “154 cm ground or chisel ground” steel, this knife features an overall length of 7.25″ with a blade length of 3 3/8″, and uses paracord as a handle material. It’s light-weight, concealable, and comes with its own Kydex sheath. Simply put, its one bad-ass blade.
