This is an 6-day 1911 gunsmithing course being taught by Larry Vickers of Vickers Tactical and Jason Burton of Heirloom Precision. The course allows students to build a complete custom 1911 from a box of oversize gunsmith fit parts. Fitting an oversize match barrel, slide to frame fit, fitting and blending thumb and grip safeties, trigger job, and complete blending of all components are covered. Additionally, metal checkering is discussed and practiced on a limited scale, along with recommended parts and sources. The course serves as a great introduction to those looking into building custom 1911s.
The course is taking place at Mile High Shooting Accessories in Erie, Colorado, September 28th through October 3rd, 2015. For more information, and to sign up for the course, email randy@milehighshooting.com with the subject line ‘Sept 28 – Oct 30 Erie Co. 1911 Class’.
