Mechanics Wear is now offering their core line of gloves in an all Coyote configuration. This includes the Fastfit and The Original models, which are shipping now, and the M-Pact model, which will begin shipping later this year.
For American Sniper, Mechanix Wear recreated four discontinued models of their gloves that were used by US Military personnel during the Iraq war: Core-Four Original, FastFit, M-Pact, and M-Pact 2.
If you’re wondering, Mechanix Wear doesn’t have any plans to bring these gloves back to market. If anything else, it serves as a reminder on how brands have progressed since the start of the war.

A short while ago, Mechanix Wear came out with a thinner variant of their ‘The Original’ glove design. ‘The Original’ high dexterity Covert glove features a 0.5mm synthetic leather palm for optimal tactile control. The synthetic leather extends to the form-fitting finger design, which reduces material bunching and improves feel. Breathable TrekDry material form-fits the hand for optimal dexterity. The wrist consists of a Thermal Plastic Rubber closure for a secure fit and nylon cord loop for storage.
My experience with the ‘The Original’ high dexterity covert has been overall positive. It’s a very dexterous and comfortable glove that offers precise control when manipulating a weapon, and it also manages to stay cool.

In addition to a line of new gloves in an approved MultiCam print, Mechanix Wear also had a really cool tactical hoodie (that I happen to be wearing) right now.
MultiCam FastFit
Lightweight and dexterous, the FastFit provides service members with an unbelievable fit and easy on/off flexibility. The anatomically cut two-piece palm eliminates material bunching for maximum control and improved manual operation. Breathable TrekDry material with MultiCam transitional camouflage form-fits to the hand for a comfortable fit in any environment. A convenient nylon cord loop is positioned beneath the wrist to be secured to the soldier’s personal equipment.
MultiCam Original
The Original glove revolutionized the hand protection industry with its versatile design and has faithfully served its users ever since. Durable synthetic leather extends the life of the glove and breathable TrekDry material with MultiCam transitional camouflage form-fits the top of the hand. The Original® provides unmatched fit, feel and functionality so the operator can focus on what lies down range.
MultiCam M-Pact
The M-Pact® protects service members against common impact and abrasion injuries in the field with flexible Thermal Plastic Rubber on the fingers and knuckles. MultiCam transitional camouflage is incorporated into the knuckle guard for complete back-of-hand disguise. The uniquely designed Impact Guard™ protects the knuckle and frees the index finger for smooth trigger guard entry and mobility. We incorporated high-impact PORON XRD cushioning in the palm for relief when the soldier is fully engaged.
Tactical Hoodie
Made from a 330gm 80% cotton / 20% polyester fleece, the Tactical Hoodie is a Men’s fitted cut with a MultiCam lined hood and handwarmer patch pockets. It features 4 Velcro backed morale patches including an American flag and 3 different Mechanix Wear logo design patches.
Coming soon from Mechanix Wear is he Impact 3 Covert Split Knuckle Design. The split knuckle offers a lower profile and is more form fitting and it has extra stitching on the index finger to prevent fraying in case the wearer wants to trim back the material for use with weapons. There are also reinforced fingertips and Thermal Plastic Rubber along the fingertips as well as a Poron insert on the palm. Finally, there is a 550 cord loop for stowage of the gloves when not in use.
