Sorry, I”ve got to call bullshit on this one. #1: No such MOS (AFSC) as an “Air Force Sniper”. #2: No such thing as an “Air Force Sniper School”. If there were, I’d know. TRUST me. I just wish I could be there at SHOT to call this asshole out. I dunno how he conned his way into a sponsorship deal, but I’d like to have a friendly conversation about it with him.

There have been a number of Air Force Defender’s who have gone through THE school. Since you claim to “know”, I’d think you would know that. You’ve gotten a lot of P.T. jumping to conclusions…since you don’t work for Drifire, how would you know how he teamed up with them?
George is a good dude, trust me, I know…ridiculous comments about what one would do “if they were there” are pointless. But keep adding to the controversy…I am sure it will drive more folks to the Drifire booth just like it did making Season Two of “Top Shot” one of the most watched so far.

I know jack and squat about AFSCs but have encountered Airmen at places like various parachute courses, RTB, yada yada. And ANG (and USMCR) attend the NG Sniper Course offered at Cp Robinson, AR.
Much as I’d loove to hate on George Reinas for the role he played up to the last few shots in the last few minutes of the reality game show known as Top Shot, the fact remains that he dominated that competition until he threw it so a lesser competitor could send his kids to good schools.

Not to be argumentative but a simple google search seems to confirm that there is such a position as a Air Force sniper (or counter sniper)
Yes, there is a counter-sniper shred-out for security forces, but thats not something you can straight go into the Air Force from basic. When I saw an episode with this guy on it, I laughed pretty damn hard. I don’t know all of this guy’s training schools but to even promote that your a AF sniper, is like me saying Im a space shuttle door gunner. If he has attended the Army basic sniper and advanced sniper courses, then good for him, he should backup all his talk about being awesome and retrain to be a PJ, or CCT specialists.
Otherwise I have agree that DRIFIRE makes excellent products, I have been impressed with their FR tee’s since I started using them, but to say that prevented hypothermia is a little drastic, as Im sure there is more to the story.
What’s with all of the hating. Whether you like this guy or not has no bearing as to the validity of the “air force sniper” role. In air force security forces there are multiple shred outs or side duties. Once you have to e through tech school you get your 5 level and man gates at any air force base. Then you can test Or try out for certain specialized schools. The air force doesn’t want to depend on sister services for defense. The usmc and army both have a mission to fulfill and guard an air force post isnt one of them. Security forces airman can attend CPEC or “Counter sniper school” at the army NG sniper school. Nuke squadrons, expeditionary squadrons and the little known 820th can attend any number of specialized schools. The 820th routinely sends airmen to airborne, air assault and pathfinder schools. A lucky few attend ranger school. The recent discovery channel series “surviving the cut” showed army sniper school in which there were several airmen trying to earn their tab. Also the us army intl sniper competition hosted 2 air force teams that placed well.
Anyone in the AF can attend Ranger school, as for air assualt and pathfinder….the day SF run those duties down range………enter the short lived DAGRE program the AF wasted time/money on
One question…did he ever shoot at enemy on operation? Does he have any real combat experience or is he a target shooter? ANYBODY KNOW? I honestly don’t care about the schools he went to whether its sniper kindergarden or the super ninja wizbang school of snipers.

Wow, a lot of pointless arguing here. Who cares if he has been in a position to engage an enemy? Many soldiers/airmen/marines/sailors deploy to a combat zone without firing a shot. If you were in the military, you would know this. Way too many armchair commandos arguing about the most pointless crap…
