Makers of the AKARS, Parabellum Armament is showing the latest version of their Ratchet Charging System. It is a user installed alternative charging system that replaces the standard gas piston. It drops in place and features a hold open that is akin to the H&K family of weapons. It also features a left-side non-reciprocating, folding charging handle.

Looks alot more refined than dublin AKs first version. Gotta have one.
Link needs to be fixed.
If only I could do that with my VZ58 I would be a happy man. At least I have one of the few left side cocking bolts.
I am pretty sure this is associated with Dublin AK systems. Dublin had pictures of the same system on there Facebook page.

The finnish army tried something very similar to this in the 70s with a simplified and fully-stamped version of the Rk 62. The handle itself was the same as on the G3 family. But in that version the charging handle was either on the right or on top.
Didn’t go beyond concept prototypes.
Can’t remember the book I saw this in, unfortunately.
