This is wear art and utility meet. VZ Grips showed us the prototypes for their upcoming Die Walkure 1911 grips featuring Bawidamann designs.
Inspired by design elements from Bawidamann’s Die Walkure artwork, the version on the left is called Skuld and the version on the right, Ragnorak. Look for an additional design as well as a couple of colors in G10. Additionally, the grips will be packaged along with a T-shirt.

Wilmont Knives was founded by US Army Special Operations Veteran, Chris Williams. He started out as a 1911 pistolsmith and moved to making knives. But, he wasn’t happy with available grinders so he put his mechanical engineering background to work to build a better mousetrap with Wilmont Grinders. Realizing he had some time on his hands between builds, Chris started building knives for on a larger scale.
The Ulu Hawk is a tool system that combines their Large Pocket Skinner knife with a purpose built handle. The handle itself is made from 6061 aircraft aluminum. There is an additional adapter that allows the Ulu Hawk handle to be attached to a stave and there are a few other accessories in the works.
The Pocket Skinner Knife itself comes in three sizes and is crafted from 1084 steel. The handle is vary adaptable and features various holes for grip and the ability to mount it to the Ulu handle or lash it to sticks, etc.

Mil-Tac offers a variety of tactical knives and tools including pistol grips.
This is the SRK-1 for Search and Rescue Knife. It integrates a Tanto blade with reverse serrations as well as a seat belt cutter, window breaker and saw but the is a model without the saw as well.
This is the Sawnto, developed for Navy SEAL Craig “Sawman” Sawyer. He will be carrying this knife on several of his TV projects. Medford also provided companion knives for Sawyer’s teammates.
This special model is S35VN with a primitive Vulcan finish but the production model will utilize D2. It’s a combo grind blade with a flat ground nose and hollow ground main edge. Additionally, Medford integrated a variety of tools into the G10 handle as well as the obligatory pommel crowbar as found on the BOA. To top it off, Greg Medford developed a very aggressive anti-personnel saw into the blade. For the production model, they are going to make the teeth a little more camp shore friendly.

Each large show, RMJ Tactical takes a hand forged Kestrel 37 and raffles it for a charitable cause. At Blade Show, it’s this model. Always, they use the funds to purchase gas forges, anvils, grinders and other items that are used as occupational therapy for those who are learning the knife making trade as a means to heal.
The proceeds from this Kestrel will be used to purchase knife making tools for a wounded warrior to help him in his rehabilitation. To enter visit booth 127. $20 gets a buy in. They are using a deck of cards for entry. You choose a card and when the deck is gone they will hold the raffle.
American Kami is collaborating with German manufacturer Böker to offer the Standard Colubris commercially.
The knife on the top is the Böker model and the lower one is the original from American Kami.
This is a great move that means that the Colubris design will always be available and at an affordable price. Granted, it’s a production knife, but much remains the same including the overall dimensions and design as well as the same G10 handles. They’ve moved to a 440C blade but its still designed for use with a Filipino Martial Arts grip.

Over the past few months I’ve been showing you sneak peeks of the Colubris family. Named after the Humminbird, it is a well balanced general purpose combat knife.
Here is the last finished model available in the batch that D.J. Brought to Blade Show. Most were gone the first day. Th Super Colubris offers the same ergonomics as the original Colubris but with a slightly longer blade. The 6″ blade is crafted from CPM S35VN and features a tumble over heat treat finish. This model offers a modified droptip but is also available with a Harpoon Recurve and Harpoon Tanto blade.
All Colubris models feature an interesting sheath that is intended to be worn IWB and tethered to the belt or attached via the grommets to your kit.
On Saturday, June 8th, 2013 at 12PM Pacific, Emerson Knives will broadcast live, their 5th Virtual Knife Show and Auction.
Here, Ernest Emerson holds the CQC-6 Chris Kyle commemorative knife. Proceeds will go to his widow and family.
Below you can see the engraving on the blade. It’s one hell of a knife dedicated to a guy who’s EDC was Emerson. In fact, Chris and Ernie were in the early stages of a signature knife when he was tragically killed.
There are several other custom models up for auction but this one in particular caught my eye.
The handle on the Patriot was crafted from a piece of oak wood collected from George Washington’s farm. The hunk of stump is dated 240 years old and was alive during the period that Washington was not only alive, but also fought for this great nation and served as its first President. Talk about owning a piece of history! The winner of this knife will have something to talk about and spur research for years to come.
