Cody Lundin Fired from ‘Dual Survival’

Yesterday, Cody Lundin, star of Discovery Channel’s hit show ‘Dual Survival‘ and renown trainer in Aboriginal Living Skill posted this to his Facebook Page.

Cody

Dual Survival Update

Dear Campers,
Unfortunately, I have been fired by Discovery Channel for differences over safety and health concerns on the show and will no longer be a part of Dual Survival.

Although I’ll miss elements of the show, what I’ll miss the most are my fans and the opportunity to teach – on a global level – life saving skills, indigenous culture, and values of integrity and respect toward our natural world.

I have received numerous letters from viewers. Many are from kids, or their parents or grandparents, describing in detail how the show has changed their lives. It has brought families together, inspired kids to go outdoors, and motivated moms and dads around the world to take that family camping trip, many for the first time. If I can use a TV show to encourage people to turn off TV and turn on nature, I have done my job.

Thank you all very much for your support over the years. Be safe and prepared, and maybe I’ll train with you in the woods some day!

Stay classy,
Cody Lundin

Cody, you don’t need them… do your own thing… have your own show.

  2. J_Douglass says:

This show was entertaining to a point, but got old after the second season. Ever since Dave Canterbury was forced to leave, Cody had to carry the show. While I respect Joe Teti, he’s too reckless and would have gotten them killed if it was a real survival scenario.

  3. Ronald Moore says:

Never liked that “Other Guy”. Hippies don’t need no He-Man risk takers. Usually first to die anyhow. Speaking from experience. SFC R “Kilmore” Moore US Army SF (ret).

  4. Tim Mc says:

    Start your own show

  5. RockStarArtist says:

    No more Cody water!!!!!

  6. We will miss you Cody! We will miss your wisdom and expertise!

  7. Reverend says:

Cody, and Dave should get their OWN show, and have guest “survivalists” on it. like Les Stroud, Bear Grylls, etc. etc.

    • Kr says:

Are you referring to the Dave that set his arm on fire with gunpowder to “cauterize” his cut?

      • Reverend says:

I am. I liked their interaction, it was like listening to brothers argue over who mom likes best.

  8. james says:

interesting guy… pretty solid skill set… not sure about bare foot in the winter shows, but he did it the way he wanted. best of luck in your next adventure!

  9. Too Bad he was our Favorite “Hippie” Good Luck Cody!!

  10. Desert Lizard says:

I hope he’ll be OK. Oh wait… he has a home that provides it’s own heating and cooling, electricity, water, and food. Nevermind, he’ll be OK.

Two thumbs Cody, three if I had ’em.

    • Steve says:

Exactly. And this is just another example of why I don’t watch Discovery chan any more. Why use media to teach when you can cater to the trailer trash with 85 IQ’s that think there is a real amish mafia.

  11. Leleand says:

I’m with Reverend. Cody and Dave should do another show.

  12. Stan says:

From what I’ve read Mr. Lundin was one of the driving forces behind Mr. Canterbury’s firing. I doubt there is many good feelings between those two. Canterbury has a new show on some outdoor cable tv network coming out soon, but given the mans past I doubt I’ll watch it.

  13. Doug says:

Cody and les stroud “real survival.”

  14. Craven Moorehead says:

Dave was too reckless, Cody too timid, Les is a bit weak and Bear(it’s getting dark out, better drink my piss)Grylls too wild.

  15. Jobby says:

So.. had they already filmed this years season before he got fired? I liked Cody, I think he’s really authentic and provides some unique survival knowledge, Joe I couldn’t stand… so no cody = me not watching.

  16. Cindy McGraw says:

Like many hav offered up, this needn’t be the end of Cody’s tv career as a survivalist. I, and countless others, trust Cody’s knowledge, wisdom, & sense of integrity. This only need be the end of his time on “Dual Survival,” which I will no longer be watching. Don’t care how long I’ll have to wait, tho doubt long, but I’m hanging in there to watch his new show. Hope its really soon – perhaps in a standard network channel. Can’t wait to see who picks him picks up the quickest. In the meantime, I’ll be feeling a great loss, and Cody, stick to your instincts and abilities for the future, & please don’t forget your fans. We love u, our dear friend. We’ll always be thinking about you with the most pleasant of thoughts. Best wishes always. Cindy

  17. Chris says:

I nor almost any person in my family never missed an episode after dave left started sucking and I would watch every once I’m while if nothing better on now Cody gone I wouldn’t watch it if I was paid!

  18. Great picture Cody now we all know you are the Big foot . I learned a lot from you ,Dave and Joe, it’s all about your safety. So if discovery can’t respect your expertise , then I say move on. You have a lot of followers so getting another network will not be a problem , just remember “if the Lord brings you to it he will bring you through it.” peace be with you always.

  19. Will says:

Cody..I may have kidded you in the past about some things..and unfortunately you took it too serious and banned me from your FB page..but I have always had the utmost respect for you and your knowledge and your work. I think you are a very valuable and strong human being..with a compassionate heart and a great love for people and the natural world we need so desperately, as a species, to become friends with again. You have inspired me to get back to my natural roots..get back to my natural self..to use nature to calm my inner storms..to focus on simple things and not sweat the big stuff too much. And even if you are the most color coordinated hippie in the aboriginal world..you are a a true natural earth man..a Puma Man. A Wicasa Wakan , and my brother of the earth..I will miss seeing you and hearing your words of wisdom and the knowledge you have shared so passionately.

Much Love Puma Man..may your eyes stay wide..your heart stay strong and may your feet touch the earth and leave no trace:) Peace:)

  20. Riley says:

    Cody

Do your own show by yourself or even w/ Dave again for a different network. You are the glue, this was a bad move by Discovery.

  21. Tony says:

Do a Cody dating show and Im in!!! His weird sexual energy on the show will be a treat to watch on real dates. Who’s with me?
