The much anticipated BCM Kinesthetic Angled Grip is finally available. It’s the result of an ongoing collaboration between BCM and Travis Haley, offering an ergonomic forward grip with a reduced profile.

Manufactured from high-quality, impact resistant polymers, the KAG offers shooters a bio-mechanically efficient handstop platform which complements modern shooting grip techniques. Its forward rake design creates an interface for positive retention and joint limitation relief to the wrist, elbow, and shoulder for smooth weapons manipulations without adding substantial girth to a weapons system. The KAG is textured front and back for positive manipulation.

The KAG comes in two configurations: KAG-KM for KeyMod, and KAG-1913 for Picatinny rails.

The KAG-KM utilizes a patent pending snag free internal mounting system, allowing shooters to take advantage of KeyMod, one of the most popular and versatile weapon mounting systems currently available.

The KAG-1913 uses BCM’s Direct Mount Picatinny 1913 Interface System which spreads energy and force throughout the accessory while securing the grip to the mounting surface.

The KAG is available in Black, Foliage Green, Flat Dark Earth, and Wolf Gray.

Any word on ATF approval for use on pistols?

  2. Rus says:

Nice looking stop! I am wondering if either is compatible with MOE hand guards?

  3. Cory says:

Can someone pleae identify the packs in these pictures for me? Thanks

  4. BLyon says:

I’m with Cory on those packs. Looks like an interesting back panel option. Always a sucker for velcro real-estate too.

As for the AR pistol grip, this is from a conversation about that very thing with someone who works at the BATFE:

Okay guys, here it is… remember, don’t shoot the messenger….

FTB has not received an exemplar for examination, so they cannot yet issue an official/ binding ruling… however…

Based on the visual representation, they initially believe the prominence of the vertical portion of this particular handstop may be enough to render it as a vertical forward grip if installed on a pistol.

The problem for everyone in the meantime is, until they examine the product, anyone using one on a pistol build exposes themselves to conflicting opinions of agents & IOI’s in the field, none of which are binding or exculpatory if a later official opinion goes in the opposite direction.

Part of the issue is, domestic manufacturers are not required to submit products for rulings, only importers are…. so the market competition for product sales are always going to produce things faster than rulings come out.

If anyone just wants to know for sure (before BCM gets around to it)… individuals can submit products to FTB directly for a determination.

Sorry to rain on the party…. but better not to be a test case for prosecution on a new product.

That was what I expected. I was hoping it had been submitted and approved, but honestly expect it to be classified vertical.

  8. Raleigh says:

Can anyone ID that hawk in the first great image for me.

  9. bulldog76 says:

Why doesnt anyone make anything in od anymore 🙁

  10. FormerActionGuy says:

Remember when you shot guys without a cool gangsta grip stance?

  11. PJ2RESQU2 says:

Ok, what is with the bungee cord/550 lacing on the forend?

    • SSD says:

It’s bungee that’s used to route cables. It’s made from a material with the same heat resistant properties as those rubber oven mitts.

  12. Casey says:

I was initially skeptical, as I really like my BCM short vertical grip. I usually only have one or two fingers on the grip, though, using it as an oversized handstop, so the KAG might be just the ticket.
