Submersible… pants? Is this another way of telling that the pants are machine washable, or do they have a depth rating too?

And individual Personal Defence Weapon (PDW) buttons, this kit is for Navy Seals, surely.

I would assume draining grommets and quick-drying fabric… none of which I see, so I dunno.

      I’ll stick to Beyond.

  2. JLo says:

    Looks very TAD Gear-ish…

  3. Collin says:

So PDW making TAD knockoffs? Okay, maybe not knockoffs, but very similar design.

    • matty says:

Isn’t Patrick Ma the guy behind Prometheus and TAD? I think he left TAD after some disagreement and started PDW.

    • Lightfighter says:

One of the founders of Prometheus Design Werx ( DW) was one of the founders of Triple Aught Design ( TAD Gear ). I imagine that he has some intellectual property in the design of both brand’s cargo pants

  4. Nikuraba29 says:

Really neat, very similar to TAD. However, the €40 euro shipping cost alone makes them extremely expensive.

    • ejb3 says:

One would think that a US based company would have the product available in the US. Is that not the case?

      • Austin says:

My guess would be these are produced and offered overseas to circumvent any non-compete Mr. Ma has with TAD. Poor form to leave a company, regardless of any reason, and then develop a product clone to compete.

I looked it up and that doesn’t appear to be the case. Tacwrk is a German gear store that sells a variety of brands:

While PDW is based in SF:

          • Austin says:

Headquarters in SF Bay area doesn’t mean that’s where their products are manufactured. Why aren’t these pants available in a US shop? Where are they made? Those are questions that will answer the potential non-compete issue, not where their design offices are.

Claiming that they will manufacture as ” as many of our goods as we are able locally” doesn’t mean these pants were sewn in SF. Seems like an incongruously nightmarish case of that’s their supply chain. Sewn in SF, shipped to a warehouse in Germany, to be sold back to US customers? Something else is going on here.

Have you considered that TACWRX may have worked out a deal to offer them first?
