Sneak Peak – AttackPAK Integrated Climbing Harness

On their Facebook page, AttackPAK showed off a project they’re currently working on: integrating a climbing harness with the AttackPAK. Anyone remember the Lowe Alpine LOCO from the 1980s?

Given the modularity of the AttackPAK system, this is a good fit, and we’re eager to see a finalized product.

You beat me to it, I had mine in the 80’s. Quick detach medium sized ruck from a padded web belt with a built in climbing harness.

Carried one to the top of mt Rainer way back when. the concept is solid.
    for some applications.

One of my teammates had a Lowe LOCO pack when I was with a LRSD unit back in the early 90’s. I remember a cool feature was if you were using the harness while on rappel you could “quick-release” the pack in an emergency.

Yep, I remember when Chuck Taylor reviewed the Lowe LOCO in the old SWAT magazine in about 1981. There were some still in service in at least one of the SFG(A)’s as late as 1995. Tried to snag one, but it ended up going to DRMO and then probably a dumpster. A big step forward in gear, and now a collectible. Sigh.
