Has anyone had the experience of using the mandibles and visor? If so how did you find the experience?

I’m just waiting for the day that we will be able to get a visor with HUD and augmented reality, and if you want to get really fancy fusion thermal and night vision. That will be a game changer right there. Having augmented reality nav instructions with night vision showing you the route and etc without tubes hanging out front and ballast in the back. Maybe just some sensors on top or something to the effect. Man, can someone say Starship Troopers. From the research I have done we are close to making it happen.

…and then it rains, or even worse, you let Joe mess with it for 5 minutes and it gets deadlined 🙂

I’ve messed with the ear covers, they weren’t for the helmet I had so I sent them back, but from what I’ve seen the accoutrements for the facial area are pretty nice. Revision has some really nice ones as well, but they are keeping them on a LE/Mil only sales level.

Yea. Hear ya loud and clear.

I’m wondering if the full face mandible and visor would effect a persons situational awareness. I can see where having all that protection would be ideal up in a turret on the fifty or 40 but I have doubts that if you were on foot with the full mandible and visor that you could retain full situational awareness. It’s hard to explain but for example with a full face motorcycle helmet you have to real careful to keep your head on a swivel to watch for hazards, but when you have just a regular “skull cap” type helmet it is lot easier to keep aware of everything.

Not saying the full mandible and visor won’t work. I’m just wondering what the folks that are using them are experiencing. Anyways.

        Have a good un.
