Haley Strategic – D3 Rifle Sling

What started as a custom design built for his Force Recon platoon during a deployment became a lifelong mission for Travis Haley to build a rifle sling that works around the end user, and no the other way around.

The D3 Rifle Sling can be run in single point or two point configuration and has been designed to transition between the two moments. The sling includes two, positive locking QD swivels and features Haley’s proven, SDI single hand quick adjustment system.

The sling also debuts a low profile pad, inspired by climbing harnesses created by the world’s leading mountaineering companies. A 5-layer laminated construction sealed with stretch woven materials, the pad provides stability and comfort without adding weight or bulk.

The D3 Rifle Sling is the result of over 15 years of continuous use, revision and improvement, delivering a versatile platform intuitive to the point where the becomes a natural extension of the body.

Huge fan of Travis but isn’t this pretty much a knock off magpul sling that’s been out for years and is like thirty bucks cheaper

I believe he designed that one too.

      • I asked him on Wednesday and you’re quite correct, he did.

If I were to equate this entry from HSP to any other sling, it would be the BFG 2-2-1, but materials wise the D3 is a step in a different direction. I wouldn’t say this product is akin to anything Magpul off right now though. You can get the MS3/4 unpadded, or the MS1 padded as a 2 point then build it in to a convertible 1-to-2 point, but Magpul haven’t commercially released a padded convertible model yet.

Pretty much impossible to build a sling that nobody could claim was not in any way, shape or form a ‘knock off’. How many hundreds of barely-different simple 2 point slings are there for sale in the world right now?

Looks like the low profile pad was inspired by an Arcteryx riggers belt.
