Post SHOT Show Wrapup – XPDW 5 Position Collapsible Stock From Armaspec

Burlingame, CA, January 19, 2015– Armaspec, manufacturer of the Rhino R23 Magwell Funnel, AST90 assisted safety selector and TCB extended mag release, is pleased to announce the new Armaspec XPDW 5 Position Collapsible Stock.

The Armaspec XPDW 5 Position Collapsible Stock is a completely new take on the PDW stock. Unlike other PDW stocks that require modified BCGs, short buffer tubes with custom buffer springs and buffers, etc. the XPDW stock mounts directly to your standard AR-15 collapsible stock mil-spec buffer tube. This design allows the end user to easily install the XPDW stock with no modification to the AR with the exception of simply removing the standard AR-15 stock.

The Armaspec XPDW 5 Position Collapsible Stock also completely breaks the mold when it comes to the affordability by coming in at an unbeatable MSRP of just $179. XPDW units are currently in production.  We are accepting orders now.

The stock looks cool, but why? It can’t possibly be any shorter when collapsed and must weigh more than most other stocks.

You’re right on the money, it just slides over the receiver extension. It has the looks of the Troy stock but without the function.

      • BillC says:

Those Troy’s only save an inch and slave you to the bolt-carrier/buffer. Don’t get me wrong, if I fell into one, I’d use it. However, the cost to benefit is very low. It’s a product that exists so people can show it off on arfcom.

Looks cool but thats it, LWRCI ultra compact is $50 less, shorter and more conventional-and probably in stock at multiple sources. I run short stocks, first click out on six position tubes so this would maybe work all the way down but offers no OAL reduction and is likely longer than an M-4 stock.

Yea, spend $400, save 1″, get stuck with a special carrier and buffer system that doesn’t have the right weight and spring compression for ideal cyclic rate and bolt velocity – so you can look cool in picture threads!

I’m glad some people understand why these all of these proprietary, expensive, and ultimately useless stocks exist.

This just a marketing cut/paste. Actual content please.

    • BillC says:

Don’t bother. Clicking on the link, the company is out-of-stock on everything, except for these, which is a preorder.

  3. Pat says:

for that price point I don’t see any advantage to this stock unless I am missing something. It doesn’t get any shorter than a collapsed regular stock, but also doesn’t have any ergonomic advantage to a full size stock either.

    • Aaron says:

Isn’t it obvious? It’s cosplay for your M4! Tired of your M4 looking like an M4? Now you can make it look more like an H&K!*

*H&K Drum rear sight and hooded front sight not included.

I’ve been looking at the version BAD offers, it saves an inch or so…. for a light weight compact package.

if this doesn’t collapse shorter than any other/standard stock, what is the purpose?
