I think these are the patterns that Gore was creating to be tailored to animal vision aren’t they? I remember seeing something a while back about it and thought it was pretty ingenious.
That’s what they say. Regardless if that’s true or not, the patterns work great in my experience.
I hope they release this pattern for US markets.
I was under the impression they were made by Hyperstealth?
They are developed by Gore with Sitka. Created to counteract how specific animal vision works, not human. They’ve studied deer, waterfowl vision etc. In this case it has nothing to do with how we perceive it. But in the right environment it works well against human vision too.

Seems like Hyperstealth claims to have taken part in the design.
Thanks for the link- I was not aware of the connection.
shh. Don’t invoke his name…
I wasn’t aware that “high end hunters” in Europe had started wearing tactical-dude camouflage and orange baseball caps. Times sure must be changing.
Sitka isn’t tactical-dude duds. It’s high end hunting couture.
After five years in Germany, I would expect “high end hunters” to be wearing a dark green or brown outfit from Härkila or Jagdhund… Something a bit more traditional. At least that’s what the hunting stores sold.
Oh well.
One of our team members used their “waterfowl” pattern in Afghanistan to great effect.
I am both encouraged and annoyed with so many new patterns being fielded. Encouraged because more suppliers, more startups and more innovation is always a good thing. Annoyed because logistically, the availability will be depending on a single supplier, rather than a number of companies supplying an industry standard pattern or set of patterns.
That said, Sitka makes great stuff, and I like this darker pattern. Their initial pattern colorway is far too close to ACU for my comfort.
Looks like M81 Woodland colors with a lighter “sand/tan” color added.
Need to see it under better lighting, but not bad at first look.
