Huron Hot Weather Uniform and Boonie in OD Now Available from TYR Tactical

The Huron Hot Weather Uniform consists of pants, blouse and boonie hat.

The Hot Weather Uniform from TYR Tactical’s Huron line is made from an ultra comfortable 3.6oz 100% ripstop nylon. This fabric feels like you took an old set of jungle fatigues and washed them a bunch of times. TYR initially had the OD fabric but their supply was quickly sold out to a government customer but now it’s back in stock and I can’t wait to get my hands on a set.

In addition to the Ripstop nylon as a base, they use 4-way stretch tweave, poly mesh, and 4-way stretch polyester with X-Static® technology. The materials are also treated with No Fly Zone® and MCS® Blocker, to provide sun protection. Additionally, they’ve added X-Static® for anti-microbial, no odor and no static cling.

Overall there’s plenty of venting built into this fast drying hot weather uniform.

Blouse Features:
• Two Breast Pockets with Ventilation
• Bar Button Front Closure
• Two Zipper Sleeve Pockets
• Waist Cinching Tabs for fit adjustment
• Fully vented back panel

Pant Features:
• Groin, waist band and knees incorporate 4-way stretch tweave for added range of motion, comfort, and abrasion resistance
• Universal Knee Pad Pockets
• Knee Cinching Tabs
• Two Front and Two Rear low profile slash pockets. The bottom of these pockets are constructed with poly mesh for water/debris drainage and airflow.
• Two Cargo Pockets with ventilation. Low profile design allows the pockets to lay flat when not in use
• Bar Button and Velcro® fly closure
• Boot Cuff Velcro® Cinching Tabs
• Internally Sewn, Poly Mesh Boot Gaiter

TYR also offers these Berry compliant uniforms in MultiCam.

Pretty rad, more pants need to offer strategic stretch in the waist and crotch, really ups the game.
+/- 3oz nylon is a super versatile fabric, one of my favorites.

50 bucks for a boonie ouch … but at the same time…..might be worth it

  3. Jon, OPT says:

Do they turn black when wet like OG107?

    • internet tough guy says:

      This needs to be answered!

    • SSD says:

If I can get ahold of a set I’ll let you know. I don’t think they will but we will see. BTW, TYR won’t say it but I will. This is the jungle fabric SOCOM selected.

      • Jon, OPT says:

It’s a much overlooked fact by the Pro-OG107 revival crowd, especially for a uniform used in very rainy environs. Thanks for the info, look forward to anything further.

      • kemp says:

suprised they didn’t go with the gore fabric

      • MtDoc says:

Break – Break – .. Not exactly . If TYR told you that … Thats another one of their stories… 3 Companies fielded for this efforts in this fabric. There are issues with it and some solutions are being developed without this fabric. .

I would say its more TBD…

        • SSD says:

Actually, TYR didn’t. Little better plugged in that that. You may notice that TYR doesn’t say it’s the fabric selected by SOCOM, I did.

Of course industry is working with other fabrics. Despite selecting the fabric, the program office hasn’t done much to work on an actual uniform yet. Additionally, neither Army nor Marine Corps have made HW fabric decisions.

  4. Eddie says:

As someone who fell in love with the OG107 jungle uniform, I can only imagine the quality of this uniform. Anything would be better than the ACU in a jungle environment however, and I speak of the new OCP ones. Good God that is a toasty uniform, and I blame the fabric.

    • Jon, OPT says:

You mean the FR ones from RFI, or the new ones sold at CS? The new uniform is the same fabric as the woodland issue and the ACU non-FR.

      • Eddie says:

New OCPs, Non-FR 50/50 NYCO. I was quite surprised even wearing them in this freezing GA Winter/Spring. You’ll be freezing in the cold wind as the air cuts through it, and as soon as the sun hits you without the wind, you’re toasting. Army can’t improve on everything I suppose.

        • Jon, OPT says:

That fabric isn’t ideal, though it does beat FR, 65/35, and pretty much anything but cotton ripstop.

          • D.B. says:

Agree, although I would extend and include cotton ripstop too. While I am emotionally attached to my Jungle fatigues in cotton ripsrop and first gen BDUs which came in same material, 50/50 NyCo ripstop beats cotton in most aspects except for breathability and cool looking faded cotton appearance.

I love my cotton ripstop garments but all things considered, NyCo is better, sorry.

            • Jon, OPT says:

I’m speaking from a comfort standpoint. I spent years wearing 50/50 and have no issues with it, but personally find cotton far more comfortable especially after wearing the same duds for 10+ days with no wash. YMMV.

              • babola says:

Comfort depends on climate and environment you’re moving in.
Get those cotton ripstop fatigues wet and it’s all diffrent ball game.

Nyco when wet stays in shape, cotton jungle pants would extend an extra inch and feel like a potato bag until dried off.

I’m also speaking from experience, having worn cotton jungle fatigues and nyco bdus and acus.

    • SSD says:

Yes, 50/50 NYCO is warmer than the old 100% Cotton Poplin. The military adopted it in the early 90s because the 100% cotton uniforms were wearing out too quickly because everyone starched them.

  5. steave says:

Overpriced n you would prop only get a week out of those cams in the j, the fabric is piss weak especially around vegetation with spikes n hooks.

  6. Angled chest pockets would have been perfect, just sayin’
