Magpul Now Shipping Happy Claymore Bag and T-Shirt

I’ve been waiting for Magpul to start shipping the Happy Claymore Bag but I didn’t expect them to offer a cool T-shirt as well. The Happy Claymore Bag is everything you wanted in a purpose built pouch and yes, you can still use as a shaving kit if you want.

Happy Claymore Bag

The Happy Claymore Bag is a better solution to carry, emplace and recover M18A1 Claymore Mines.

After years of working on and with small teams that use these mines regularly, the Magpul staff decided that there had to be a more practical and efficient way to do it.

They ditched the wire reel, and drawing on their mountaineering and riverine experience decided on a design similar to a rope throw bag. The blasting cap and firing wire is routed through a large grommet on the bottom of the bag, then secured in the static free blasting cap pocket on the tarp. When stored, the tarp separates the firing wire from the firing device in the same pocket. The mine itself is stored in a separate pocket, along with a stake, grease pencil, and range card. Handy right?

Nice! I want one and I don’t even work with claymores anymore.

    Great video!

  2. DSM says:

    Awesome.

Platatac has a great Claymore pouch that comes with their Z-ALICE ruck but it wouldn’t be as fast on retrieval as the Magpul rig. I think it’d be faster on set up though.

  3. Mike B. says:

How about allowing those of us in Europe to make an order. Fvcking BS.

    • Andrew says:

      Yes, Magpul hates you.

You think if it was as easy as just clicking a button, they wouldn’t want to take your money? Do you have any idea how difficult international commerce is for large businesses? Especially those who deal with ITAR products? Talk about entitlement…

      • SecondGradeMath says:

Because it’s against the law Mike.

If you need to bitch, bitch to the State Department.

        • Alex says:

Sorry but nylon and t-shirts aren’t ITAR controlled. Thanks for the good laugh though.

  4. DAN III says:

Instead of promoting and concentrating resources on this nearly worthless Claymore bag, I’d like to see MAGPUL put a fire under the already delayed release of the UBR GEN 2 stock.

Is this the direction MAGPUL is headed ? Textile items made overseas and firearms accessories being put on the backburner ? Seems they’re changing priorities.

    • Chris says:

Guess what I used my last deployment? Fucking Claymores. And the issue bag sucks.

Guess what I didn’t? A fucking UBR. You see a lot of UBRs on service rifles?

Magpul is looking out for the warfighter. Kick rocks if you don’t like waiting for their gear.

      • Pete says:

I’ll second that, Chris. These look sweet. I’ll be buying one as soon as they show up with retailers. I imagine they’ll be popular here at Bragg. I do wonder if there’s any application to the newer shock tubed claymores though…

        • Datamaggot says:

Really UBR gen2? Of all the things to bitch about?

I don’t work with claymores, and instantly thought that this is a great product, for those who need it. I started imagining uses for storing HF wire antennas. (types you hang in a tree).

      • SSD says:

        It’s an ITAR thing.

        • Alex says:

I don’t think it is. Not for nylon goods and especially not for t-shirts.

They don’t want to compete with their international distributors nor deal with the international parcels.

    • SecondGradeMath says:

Because people making videos assemble stocks too.

  5. TheMachinist says:

Does it still have all the instructions and illustrations on the inside. I need to know how to vigorously stomp someone’s crotch to maintain noise discipline.

  6. JHP says:

As a recon guy my last gig in the army, I would have paid a lot for this. It would have made actions at the LP/OP, hide/surve and long halt a hell of a lot easier. Good on them. Why are we bashing a company that us more focused on helping soldiers rather than making as much money as they can?

  7. Steak TarTar says:

i can see why civvies would be irked that Magpul developed something that is not targeted at them. Good on Magpul for doing something explicitly for the warfighter

    • Alex says:

Yes the last piece all these warfighters have been needing, finally we can continue fighting!

  8. Lasse says:

It’s not ITAR restricted.. Magpul simply chooses not to deal with non-US orders- but they do have dealers which is where you’ll get their stuff.

    • SPQR476 says:

We don’t have an efficient small order export process right now when ordering direct, unfortunately. Whether it’s ITAR controlled items, Commerce controlled items, or whatever, we are watched very, very carefully because of the nature of our main product line. We are working on that, with a bunch of moves towards ease of doing international business on all fronts, but we’re not there yet.

As for the UBR, a lot of the SHOT show announcements have been delayed by increased demand. It’s difficult to schedule first article, pilot, etc., production runs, especially on machined items, with the current crazy schedule of trying to meet demand. Plus, they are all piling up, and we’re already working extra shifts, but we’ll get it done. And no, the soft goods folks are not the same folks putting together the UBRs and they are not the same folks making videos, etc. The product sides are independent. We are continuing to work very diligently on firearms related products, and we’ve got a lot of interesting things coming. All of the products announced at SHOT 2016 will be shipping over the next few months. We are working on the shipping announcements and building shippable quantities of many of them right now.

    • SSD says:

The issue is that most of their products are ITAR controlled.
