At The Front Reproduces WW II Army Camo

Reproductions of vintage military equipment is serious business with some selling for as much as the originals. For reenactors, reproductions are more desirable than original artifacts due to their fragility and scarcity. Additionally, orginal clothing and equipment is often only available in smaller sizes. If you wear larger sizes and want to actually wear these items, from any era, reproductions are your best bet.

They expect reproduction uniforms in the Spring. The long pole in the tent was getting the print right for the pattern. I find project is interesting considering the Army only wore camouflage uniforms in the ETO for a few months in 1944 before they were withdrawn from service as they were being mistaken for Germans. On a side note, At The Front sells fabric for those interested in getting some custom kit made up.

I love this comment from At The Front, “Go ahead and bitch because “it ain’t khakee enuff…”. Write a snivel letter to the War Department.” They went on to say:

The fabric for Army Camo uniforms is done. Comparison is with a mint, unissued jacket. US Camo Trivia: I discovered in the past 5 minutes that the repeat (roller sizes) on US camo are just as kookie as German. Our print is 12.25″, and among seven original garments I found 12.25″, 13.25″, 14″, 14.5″ and 15″. All are unissued so shrinkage isn’t an issue. The artwork remains the same (nothing added or removed) but the entire pattern varies by about 10% in size. And there are nearly as many shade variations as there are with Natzee stuff.

Warning: At The Front offers original and reproduction militaria from the WWII-era. If you are sensitive to history and the existence of Nazi Germany as well as any artifacts from that period, pass the site by.

The best part about ATF, is the snarky commentary, and the refusal to tolerate fools.

      x 2, this comment!

When I first found the site, many, many years ago, I found the comments just by accident, just exploring the site and every awesome thing on it. Then,THEN, I saw the comments…I was dumbstruck someone would address potential ‘customers’ like that, but then, after dealing with self professed ‘kammo men’ on “Chatt” sites, and those who know it all and cant be told different, and who refuse to believe ANYONE else my have similar interest, and level of knowledge…let alone possibly more knowledge (gasp), I understood, and looked forward to any and all new comments accompanying new products!

I have several of their products (and several ‘real’ things) and you really, unless you count stitches per inch and similar geek stuff, tell the difference…which is why they put “ATF” on the tags-a damn honorable thing to do, so unscrupulous people cannot pass ATF stuff off as “authentic ” WWII stuff, and stick the collector.

I cannot speak highly enough about the company, or their products!!
If you cant find a M1943, or a “Jump” jacket or pants in real person sizes,I can guarantee you will be pleased with what you order from here. My next buy will be WWII Denims.
Well, and I AM looking for a ERDL ripstop field jacket,in Large, but that is outside the companies product line, so, the search for THAT item continues!
And, though it may sound like it, I don’t own stock in the company, nor am I in any way affiliated with them…aside from giving them large chunks of worthless paper with green ink on it, over the years!

Moore-militaria.com is to Vietnam reenacting what ATF is to WWII reenacting. They have reproductions of ERDL.

A trigger warning for history? On SSD? Uh, no. This is my safe place…where I come to to get away from all the kooks who love to invoke Hitler and Nazi Germany when talking folks like us and the new President.

    • SSD says:

Man, we’ve had some knock down, drag outs here in the past, so I just wanted to warn people who get triggered.

      • John says:

Seriously? There are people who visit this site and are offended by historical reality? That’s insane.

    • Jilo says:

Ha. SSD of all places and considering the admin’s politics, this is hilarious.

  3. John says:

The trigger warning triggered my sensitivity to trigger warnings. I’m offended. I’ll need at least 15 minutes in my safe-space. 🙂

At The Front make excellent stuff.

  5. Disco says:

I see stupid ass black kids wearing this camo with their asses hanging out back on the block like everyday. Granted it is in skinny and gangly sized so most paunchy white gear queers are automatically disqualified.

I have no idea where they are getting these pants in this camo but it is out there

  6. babola says:

That’s not a Velcro patch on the original unissued jacket’s pocket shown on the left, is it?

“orginal clothing and equipment is often only available in smaller sizes. If you wear larger sizes and want to actually wear these items […]”

I don’t know, a landwhale with a waist over 40 inches doesn’t make a very convincing WWII infantry reenactor. Someone that doesn’t fit might want to look sizing themselves down rather than sizing clothes up.

But hey good on ATF for capitalising on that.

    • SSD says:

They aren’t actors nor actual service members. I don’t really care what you look like if you’ve got a passion for history and are willing to invest time and money into making it come alive.

  8. PTMcCain says:

Multicam…..back in WWII days…what goes around comes around, seems to be, oh, and our helmets look like the helmets some nations used then too.

    Triggered!
