In a pre-SHOT Show sneak peek, ZEV Technologies is offering a first look at their new PRO Plus Magwell. Just like their PRO version released in 2016, the ZEV PRO Plus Magwell is a stylish one piece aluminum design, but the similarities end there. With the professional shooter in mind, the new PRO Plus was designed with a larger tapered well opening on all sides to aide in faster, more consistent magazine changes. It also incorporates a pass-through hole at the back for lanyard retention.
Designed to fit both Gen-3 and Gen-4 GLOCK frames.
One piece aluminum design
Smooth black anodized finish
Kit includes magwell body, mounting screw, and wrench.
NOTE: Gen-4 back straps may need to be modified if used.
MSRP: $109

This looks nice but please please please I pray they did not make this so it has to use the Button Head screen that protrudes out the back of the grip! Their original magwells have a flush set type screw that holds the mag well in place but the pro model has a huge button head that is not only an eyesore but an undesireable protrusion on the grip. I’m assuming it is going to have this same failure being that they aren’t showing pictures of the back of the grip with the mag installed.
1. Replace with a flush allen screw.
or
2. Put some grip tape over it, it helps.
As for you eye sore complaint… it ain’t Barbie’s Dream Car.
1) I’ve called them and they have told me that you can’t do that. I asked them how is that possible when the standard magwell works the same way. The response was around the engineering the Pro Magwell being a single piece design and requiring the added leverage support of the button head screw and they would NOT advise using a flush set screw type. I am not an engineer but I am completely baffled as to how that’s possible…
2) I already have talon grips on my flocks which I would prefer not having to remove and potentially ruin just to install this.
3) I understand your comments about the eye sore and our guns being tools but where I’m going to have to disagree is that anyone who owns Zee products understands that design and appearance is 100% one of the major brand elements of Zev. Do you own any of their products? Their dimpled barrels or their glock slide designs are are purely aesthetic “look cool” type of items. So I don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to point out. People aren’t buying Zev because their items are any better than the next company out there. People without a doubt buy their items bc they are unbelievably beautiful in terms of design.
My hope is that they do make this with a set screw type and I could just be assuming they are making the same mishap as they did with the Gen 1 magwell. But if not, it’s absolutely purposeful that they are leaving out that rear shot image showing the button head screw. And if it truly is an engineering requirement than I can live with that as long as there is some non BS kind of statement about it. Anyways I hope I’m wrong bc I love their products and own many of them and will continue to buy them.
Ugh FML I got typos all over the place! Lol forgive me please it’s late
I’ve got the ALG magwell with a buttonhead screw and have never even noticed it when shooting, reloading, dry firing, etc. Does look kinda stupid but since it’s a tool I don’t care.
I hear ya. I def don’t mind it on my other magwells that are from other manufactures. I have that ALG magwell also. For Zev they are ALL about aesthetics so I think it’s reasonable to expect sleek sexy beauty from them when that’s exactly what they market. It’s like going to a strip club and seeing a bunch of 5’s and 6’s… I don’t go to strip club to see mediocre I want to see 10’s and if I’m going to be paying for 10’s I expect a 10.
A set screw will not work on the one piece designs, I have tried it and the magwell just falls out…
