IWA – 5.11 Xprt Hardshell

5.11 is offering a peak into their Fall line with the unveiling of their Xprt hatdshell jacket and pant. Made from eVent, this is a fully featured garment which will initially be offered in Black and Dark Blue to complement their existing Xprt uniform, with MultiCam to follow next year.

This is a UF Pro design copy, isn’t it?

Btw, it would be so nice, when 5.11 Tactical could use Gore-Tex.

I am not happy with the high prices and the low standards. For example, 5.11 Evo WP – China sh*t – boot: 140$. Haix Black Eagle – real shoemaker quality – Tactical Mid 2.0: 170$.

It’s a generic layout. Some customers prefer eVent.

The one thing Gore has, that no other branded membrane has, is high brand recognition. Function-wise Gore isn’t superior to eVent, Dermizax or other common names, eVent is probably the most breathable membrane available today.

all trade offs, eVent is much more breathable but has DWR problems sometimes and can be much less waterproof when dirt or oil gets in the fabric. Gore is stuffy, but much more waterproof and has very high standards for allowing people to use it.

Very curious to see the price point, I think Wild Things and Otte Gear are the only ones with similar style eVent jackets right now, kinda surprised they aren’t leading with coyote and MC but they know who their customer is.
